Tandy LeatherCraftool� Pro Stitching Awl 83020-00

I've tried the CS Osborne awl before this one, and the Craftool Pro is heads and tails better. Its Japanese made (they tend to make the best sewing tools), looks to be stainless steel, and smoothly glides through 8oz tool leather without any problem, whereas the CS Osborne would barely make it through without breaking (which it eventually did). Very ergonomic, well made, and a pleasure to work with. Sped up my saddle stitching immensely.

Its a little pricey buy I think its worth it if you want good quality tools. These are made in Japan.

Not bad, but the blade bends pretty easily when set at the depth it's sold at. Took a little bit of honing to get it sharp. The handle isn't quite as solid as is warranted by the purchase price.After only two projects with the awl I can say that I'd rather spend the money on a different one.

The tool is dull and poor quality, especially for the price.

Bought this from tandy leather hoping it would be worth the $24. After using it for 1 session the blade broke. I wasn't being overly aggressive with it at all. I was using it in 1/2 in leather but maybe it was too much. Not worth the price in my opinion.
