Great canisters, probably the least subtle packaging
These container sets are pretty great. I had already purchased one for myself a while back, but thought a friend could use some too, so I bought these for him for Christmas. They keep stuff fresh, as they're (mostly) air-tight. These do work to keep scent in for the most part, but if you get right up on them with your nose, it's going to be obvious what's inside. Using a baggie or another similar container will prevent you from having to scrub them out to get any resin or pollen from sticking to the interior, and would probably dampen any smells even further. They're not super durable, but they can take a few drops before anything chips or breaks. However, the packaging is probably the worst part. Don't expect to get this package and let your friend unwrap the box in front of family members who maybe aren't aware of their hobby.Instead of being subtle about what these are actually for, it's pretty blatant, and kind of hilarious. It shows pictures of where you can use them, which apparently includes a pirate ship. Why a pirate ship and why not a regular boat? Who knows. But you can definitely use them to keep herbs fresh on a pirate ship if that's your jam, I guess.

The media could not be loaded. Yes so happy with how it came , it’s so cute how it goes from big to small stacked together instead of being individually packed ! love it Quality is excellent and definitely will seal your belongings in there !

Vacuum, bit of a misnomer...
These precision-made thin-walled plastic canisters do Not actually produce an advertised "vacuum", unless a weak one trying to remove the lid without releasing the valve. What they are is actually 'hermetically sealed' containers, which means 'nothing' is going to get in or out under normal use. (A sealed mason jar would be the same.) While there seems to be an enormous market here for these kinds of containers for keeping herbs fresh (ahem), I got mine for flake fish food. I live in a Very Humid Environment, which wrecks a lot of things quickly. My hundreds of platys cannot eat even one ounce of flake fish food before it goes bad, and buying it by the ounce is about 3 times as expensive as 7 ounces. So for the same price of a set of these and a 7oz can of their food, I should have about 2 years of fresh food for them! Along with these cannisters I got some silicone bead indicator gel packs and put a few in each cannisters - they will tell the real story how sealed these cannisters are when I open one in a few months. There are a few caveats about using these, some already pointed out. Number one, the whole seal is achieved by the extremely fine tolerance between the tight-fitting (but easy to remove/replace) lid and base. If you scuff, drastically scrub, use harsh plastic-dissolving chemicals, or repeatedly clumsily pull the top on and off, you are going to weaken this seal. I would only delicately hand wash these containers alone with mild detergent and air dry on a towel. Number two, as you can see in the lid, the seal-release is the little white valve. If that gets stuff (like flake fish food...) in it, it's not going to seal well, and could become difficult to adequately clean to maintain a good seal. So keep stuff out of the valve! Likewise, don't contaminate the sealing neck and lid by getting 'stuff' on it (like flake fish food, sticky or greasy stuff, etc.) These precise-fitting surfaces may be creating van der Walls forces (like geckos use) that effect a barrier, so any gunk in there is going to decrease this close mating and hermetic effect. If you're using these containers daily, with sticky stuff, it is going to be trickier to keep this seal patent...If my moisture gel indicator packs have changed color when I open the first one in about 3 months, I'll come back and update this review. Otherwise, if you can keep it clean, you should be good to go with your use of these cannisters. And Bravo for this product being made in Taiwan!

Good Product
The plastic is very thin and ridged, so they are definitely easy to break, however they do what they advertise. They keep dry goods fresh.

These Tight-Vac's keep more air out than standard plastic or glass storage wares
I can only base my headline on smell, but I do find whatever I put into the Tight-Vac, the smell of the content seems to be fresher than when I use standard plastic or even glass with plastic covers. My cats HATE stale food, once the smell lessens they are performing upward nose cat yoga when presented with leftovers...and the food just sits there. This was one of the primary reasons for trying Tight Vac out: to store cat food! Putting a plastic cap on an open can of wet food doesn't cut it: I can smell the metal of the can the next day, despite the plastic lining in the interior of the can.I also stored a pound of coconut sugar in one of the large Tight Vacs and I just opened it after at least three months of storage and it smells fresh and is easy to scoop up. It didn't harden like it does in the plastic bag it comes in. Same with roasted nuts, probably coffee, too: given the oil, roasted beans/nuts appear to stay fresh longer in a Tight Vac.The containers wash easily and the little air pump that extracts the air from the interior appears to last a long time. I've had mine probably for at least six months and they still work as well as they did when they were new.
