Fun and light
Taming Hollywood's Baddest Boy, by Max Monroe is a 348-page contemporary romance novel and is the first book out of a 3-part series called "Hollywood". Okay, so it says it's the first book, but honestly, if you read this book it feels more like it's the second book as scenes in this book elude to past things in the second book, but whatever. It is written from a first-person POV, two-sided.I like the RomComs a lot, especially ones that are actually laugh out loud funny and this one delivers. Being in the mind of these characters is an absolute riot. I am also interested in the authors (that's right, plural), apparently, Max Monroe is the name of two authors who decided to write romance together. It really works. I imagine the sense of humor between the two women is similar enough, but they compliment each other well when they swap POVs so it is clear that character voices are not similar at all.The heat level of this book is five. It's explicit, is it super dirty like Penny Wylder or Tessa Bailey? No, but it's not clean.Spoilers Ahead ***Billie is a Production Assistant ("PA") for a well known movie producer. Her goal in life is to produce her own movies. Backstory for this character, her parents passed away when she was 8 or 9 (it contradicts in this story with the third book in the series) and was raised by her grandmother and older sister (who's happy ending story is covered in book 3). Billie has an insane habit...when she gets nervous, she decides to be a bit more generous with the truth. The movie she's working on is currently in the middle of casting the lead male and she implied she knows Luca Weaver, Hollywood's bad boy, who hasn't been for eight years. So her journey starts with her seeking Luca out and basically shoving the script down his throat.Luca is a child movie star who got in a lot of trouble as he got older in Hollywood, drugs? Promiscuity? Partying? Yup. He's done it all, well maybe not all, but it's implied he was quite naughty. He tries to get rid of Billie by scaring her away with a very non city lifestyle as he lives in the middle of nowhere in Alaska. Billie's persistent though and worms her way into his heart and bed.Overall, the characters were likeable, and the meetcute was...well, it was fun. Billie showing up on his doorstep while Luca is half-naked? Yeah, that shouldn't be awkward at all.Generally, here are my thoughts:1. The POVs from the characters are hilarious. I will say, the conflict between the two characters was more misunderstanding than anything extreme, but maybe that is just how RomCom rolls?2. I liked their style of writing, it was easy to read and the flow for the most part felt natural, and yes, I actually laughed out loud3. This is a situation where the love grew over time, so I appreciate that, so there's a lot of time warping.4. There is a scene in beginning that someone mentioned as being really unrealistic, namely the hiking section. And yeah, that's not realistic if you have no experience hiking, but I didn't let that bother me too much.In summary, I give this a 4 out of 5. I plan to read the other two books.

The Hollywood Story I Never Knew I Needed...
I’ve enjoyed every Max Monroe book I’ve ever read and I’ve read pretty much all of them. When I heard we were getting some new words, I just couldn’t wait and thankfully I didn’t have to for long. This book did not disappoint. There was so much tension from their first meeting; I think the pages were vibrating. Or maybe that was just Billie. I guess if I was confronted by a beautiful, naked, built, angry man (did I mention he wasn’t wearing any clothes?), I’d be a little jittery, too.Luca Weaver was Hollywood’s Baddest Boy until he walked off a movie set and disappeared from the world 8 years ago. Before he flew the coop, Luca was a household name. He was in the biggest movies. Went to the best parties. Knew all the right people. Until enough was enough and he had to change his life or he wouldn’t have a life anymore.Billie Harris is working as a Production Assistant in Hollywood, working for a producer who has the hottest new script in town. Billie offered up Luca as the male lead, like she was a personal friend, instead of just a girl who had a crush on an actor when she was younger. Now all she had to do was find him, get him to read the script and agree to come back to Hollywood. Easier said than done, even if she had overheard his Agent mention his name while she was at lunch the day before.Off the grid Billie goes to find her Hollywood Leading Man. And when she finds him, he is not too happy to see her, especially since he has no idea who she is or what she wants. I love the give and take between Luca and Billie. They’re both stubborn, hard-headed and think their way is the right way. The chemistry is insane, almost as insane as the trek through the forest that Billie follows Luca on so she can try to wear him down.I can definitely say this is one of my favorite Max Monroe books. Maybe it’s because of the plotline, or the fact that the female lead is a sarcastic, loudmouth, loves her sister, type of chick I hope to be if I ever grow up. They are just perfect together, but first they need to figure that out for themselves before they both blow it. What a great read!

5 hilarious stars!!
When one of Max Monroe’s books hits my kindle then I know I’m in for a good few hours of witty off the cuff banter, crazy tales and all the laughs as well as an addictive and captivating storyline.I can’t help but fall in love with the characters and am always sad to leave them when the book ends and brooding Hollywood bad boy Luca and cowboy boot wearing Billie bringing all the sass were no different. I’d even throw it out there and say they’re probably my favourite couple so far!!I can’t wait to see where Max Monroe’s next book takes us! Their wit and sarcasm never fail to have me hanging on to my sides crying with laughter and in this crazy world there’s nowhere else I’d rather escape to!I highly recommend this read!!

Really enjoyed this!
I loved this, it was great fun. It was almost 2 acts with the Alaskan wilderness in part one and then Hollywood in part 2 which was great to experience both worlds. If you want an escape from reality bit with pretty relatable characters and no other woman/man drama I highly recommend this book.

36 mile hike!
I really struggled to get into this book to start with, and it wasn’t for the want of trying! It took a good 10 chapters before I as hooked in but then that was it.The usual great characters and storyline, which is what I expected but struggled to find initially, brought tears to my eyesIt was hard work but worth it on the end, another great book

Not the best story
Really loved the blurb of this book, but unfortunately it didnt live up to it. Loved the hero Luca but disliked the heroine Billie. I found her very annoying and childish, and I didnt think she improved as the story unfolded as per one of the reviews. Quite a disappointing read.

Fantastic
Omg! I absolutely loved Billie and Luca! From the first meeting you just knew it was going to be the perfect frenemy to lovers story! I laughed, I cried..... Luca is a grumpy hero but even he can't stay grumpy with Billie around! I love her. Another fantastic more than 5 stars worth story from Max Monroe. Can't wait to see what's up your selves next!
