Military Watch Spitfire WW2 Pilots Watch

Purchased as a gift. Very nice watch. Easy to read. The oversized Laco style crown is an attention getter. It has a unique case back which has four screws (see pics). Very cool. I haven't had the back off yet but hopefully it goes back on properly. Flat crystal. If your changing the band, it's a 23mm. Of course I've got 22s and 24s...In my opinion, a very nice quartz watch that is very well made. Can't go wrong.I didn't realize the retailer was in AU, but it arrived promptly in NY.

I really enjoy this timepiece, it has all the characteristics of a WWII fighter pilots watch of yesteryear, without the heavy pricetag of a 1940's era original. Has a big 45mm textured matte black dial with slightly raised arabic numerals around and lovely cathedral hands on the hour and minute markers. The seconds hand extends all the way to the end of the railroad track inner bezel dial with an arrow-style pointer. The watch has a very nice mirror polish throughout the stainless steel case to include a nice oversized onion crown (crown diameter of 10mm). The crystal is flat surfaced (not domed) and flush with the watch case (no A.R. coating observed on crystal). The luminescence on the watch is good and very clear to read when no lights are on (see pic examples) not a seiko SKX diver lum, but very good and holds its own in the dark. This is a quartz watch and frankly I would of paid extra to have an automatic movement inside to have the sweeping seconds hand but for the price this is a great overall value, looks great and a great addition to my watch collection.I did add a leather watch "bund strap" (not included) to the leather strap it comes with which is marked genuine leather underside and a suede or nubuck leather on the outside to add not only additional protection from the Midwest cold temperatures here outside on the wrist but also to add a bit more of a "period correct" look to the watch from the WWII era that pilots often used when going into low to high altitude in non pressurized cockpits where their was drastic temperature changes when aircraft "dog-fighting" engagements were performed. Some of my photo examples have it on.Shipping was really fast coming in from Australia to Chicago IL. in approx. 10 days. Came in a good protective package (two layers) and inside a cushioned metal tin as well.

First things first, for $100 (USD) this is a lovely watch.The markings are very clear and the contrast between the hands and the face make it easy to read the time.The leather strap is quality and feels comfortable on the wrist.I’m 6’3” and 250 pounds and I’ve still got a few open slots on the band, and the face is big enough to not look too small. It's a really nice watch it glows in the dark for easy reading inlow light situations as said and it fit my huge wrist without any modifications so it's a win also for this low of a price it's a really nice watch

This is a value watch that is a pleasure to own and wear. The heritage factor is appropriate and the size and the mechanism are high quality. Also storage case is top notch and the notes from shipping are very nice.
