Love my little Glow Light
This is a dandy little device. Since it has a backlit that can be adjusted to a person's preference, it comes in handy when a person wants to read in a dimly lit room. Funny story! I was in Savannah, GA for three days. Second night in hotel room, all the lights were off except the light from my glow light Nook. Suddenly, I noticed something out of the corner of my right eye. An apparition rose from the floor and came at me. I threw the nook down, covered my head, screamed (bleep) to the top of my lungs, and the apparition turned and went out through the ceiling. Don't believe me? I don't blame you, but I will always associate my little Nook with that event. It scared the bee-gee-bees out of me.

The Nook Glowlight offers a wonderful reading experience
The Nook Glowlight offers a wonderful reading experience. I got it as an upgrade from my Nook SimpleTouch for the backlight feature, and I have also found that it is lighter than the SimpleTouch, that the text doesn't "flash" on page turns anywhere near as often, and that the lesser contrast of the white color makes it seem more like reading a physical book. The battery doesn't last as long, but that's to be expected with the backlight, and it still lasts a decently long time. Other reviewers have complained about the lack of side buttons for page-turning, but that is a non-issue for me since I prefer tapping to turn anyway. All in all, if you are looking for a dedicated e-reader, you really can't go wrong with this.

Terrible product
DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT!! I am on my third Glowlight since January. The product has serious software problems KNOWN to B&N. Within a week after receiving the third unit (second replacement) it began to fail. The pages would only turn backwards, sometimes not change either forward or backwards. The reader would not shut off, the screen would blank out. I can use it sometimes if it is plugged in but not for long! There is no Glowlight anymore. It is unconscionable to me that B&N would continue to market this product. Unfortunately, I am stuck with the product since I have several hundred dollars invested in Nook books. Be forewarned. Nearly all of my purchased books were obtained for my Nook Simple (which had no problems). I had loaned it to a friend take a look at but will take back for my own use

The Glowlight works on all levels and is fun to use
The Glowlight works on all levels and is fun to use. It does seem to use more battery than the Nook Simple Touch with Glowlight that I had before. Also, when I connected it to my computer, the 27 or so books I had loaded onto it did not show up in the computer directories. Not sure if this is a problem of the Glowlight or me, though.

Happy with Glowlight
I owned the Nook Color before purchasing the Glowlight. I miss the color, but the light weight of the Glowlight more than makes up for it. I'm disappointed I can't download Overdrive which would allow me to borrow library books. Overall, more pluses than minuses.

Love the Nook Glow!
I love this nook. I am a voracious reader and I read whenever I have time to do it. I can read with this Nook while my husband is sleeping and even at the lowest level light my Nook has, I can still read in bed before sleep, which I really missed doing since the lamp kept my husband up. This Nook has a long batter life and it doesn't take long to charge back up and you can charge it while you read. Even more efficient for me, the cord has the same micro usb cord as my cell phone. One cord can charge both. I did not want a color Nook or a Kindle - I just wanted a simple ebook reader, and this one is perfect for me.

IF YOU ARE VISUALLY IMPAIRED, THIS LIGHT IS GREAT, BUT THE FONT OPTIONS ARE TERRIBLE
I did the best possible comparison between kindle paperwhite and nook glowlight, even dragging my daughter and her paperwhite into Barnes and Noble and taking the paperwhite and the glowlight--as far as glowlight's 'leash" would allow--under the table to see how they worked in a relatively dark environment. As much as i love amazon and adore my kindle basic ereader, as someone with who has macular degeneration and suffers from eye strain, i needed the best possible non-back lit ereader. Clearly in this face-off of lights, glowlight won.i still wanted to do more research and found an article in a online magazine article which rated the brightness off ereader built-in lights. As i recall the nook 2nd generation glowlight was 22% brighter than paperwhite's 2nd generation. So my glowlight arrived, and i had the anticipated struggles, I already knew how to use the USB cord for books and personal documents which couldn't be cordlessly downloaded via amazon. By the way, many libraries also cordlessly download to kindles but not, as far as i know, to Nooks. But now I had to go thru adobe digital reader which was a bit of a challenge. I already knew B&N's books were pricier, and that they didn't have as large an inventory as amazon, but what i didn't know is how horrible the nook's font choices are, espec. for someone who is visually impaired. Of 6 choices all, except the annoying Malabar (with it's 19thC combo of thick and thin lines), tend to be thin and spidery, and--even worse, they are decidedly grey, not grey-black.In a rather valiant effort to decide if i should keep the glowlight, I joined message boards, visited the B&N mpls store where i bonded with their friendly, helpful, tech saavy kindle guy who was unable to help me, searched the web endlessly trying to see if there was a way to change the glowlight fonts (as i'd done via calibre after kindle thinned their fonts--which are still 25% thicker than nook's- in their june 2012 update)....anyway time was ticking, i'd have to decide soon whether or not to keep the nook, i worked night and day. Just after my return window swung closed, i turned my attention to glowlight's justification or should i say, lack of right sided justification. So if you have to have a level 5 font size you will often have 5-6 hyphenated words in your right hand margin which doesn't square well with my ADD (I'm so afflicted i should be put to sleep).of course i have no idea if the kindle 2nd generation paperwhite has different fonts choices than the nook (just checked, their choices are much better, far less spidery) or have maintained their full justification (still uncertain). (my daughter who lives in other state never seems to find time to charge hers and report back to me).I'm surprised that with babyboomers retiring and having more time for reading and for aging, that ereaders companies aren't trying to get more of the visually impaired market. In frustration, I even contracted a local agency, think it was federation for the blind (which also services the visually impaired, to see if they were doing any advocacy with ereader companies, and they were disappointingly clueless as to how helpful ereaders can/could be to the visually impaired.bottomline: if you are visually impaired, espec. by macular degeneration this may not be the ereader for you. i've heard good things about kobo's fonts, which you can personalize, wish i'd have investigated it more before purchasing this glowlight.oops one last nail this glowlight's coffin. In their 2nd generation, nook, too, went to the annoying touch screen page tuner. The bezel is barely wide enough to hold the device when sitting peacefully on one's couch, but if you were reading it on the go, you'd be really screwed as in a 3 min. period it flips ahead or back one-several pages at least 5-6 times, and i have small hands. I realize paperwhite never did have buttons, but please squawk loudly and frequently to manufacturers/sellers about how unuser-friendly touch screen page turning is. Once you find the perfect ereader, happy reading.

Feels good in the hand!
My Nook Glowlight e-Book Reader arrived on time, was registered with Barnes & Nobles immediately upon receipt, and now proudly has 4 books loaded onto it. I'm a book lover who enjoys the actual handling of books. But, this eBook reader feels wonderful in my hands - is light, with good (light) weight distribution. I'm thrilled to own one and use it for on-the-go activities, where waiting and free time is expected.
