I’ve had this version for several years - maybe 4? Unfortunately I dropped it and a bit broke off. I was very happy with it and I didn’t see the point of spending more. This time I have downloaded the app and for the moment I’m following it - I didn’t bother last time. It doesn’t always perfectly work, however I think it has made me more mindful of coverage and not pressing too hard. I didn’t want one of the io models with the colour screen. I like this menu system where you can see by the light position which mode you are in. I’m not sure how well I’d see the newer versions without glasses on. May well be fine but I was happy with this display. The battery was still working pretty well on my old one so I shall be very happy if this one is as good. I’m sure it will be. This version has a basic plastic case that will go in the dishwasher. My previous one had the charging case. In truth that is quite heavy so when travelling I tended to take the charger with me instead, so save your money if you are considering that option.

Oral-B have so many toothbrushes out there that my head was spinning as fast as their brush head! I looked at the Braun website for some clarity on the new iO range to no avail so I asked myself a simple question. Do I really need an all singing and dancing toothbrush that costs as much as a second hand car? No! was the simple answer! My old braun electric toothbrush lasted 5 years RIP. My dentist was happy that my teeth were clean with no nasty build ups so I decided to go for another Genius. This toothbrush does everything you need. It has an everyday clean setting, deep clean, whitening and gentle when your gums are feeling tender. There is even a setting for cleaning your tongue! It's easy to use and needs charging every 2-3 weeks or so. There are also a range of different heads from floss action, precision clean, whitening and even one for cleaning between the teeth! (Note: these brush heads are nearly a third cheaper than the ones for the new iO range.) If you want an excellent toothbrush and are not fussed about AI and an app that tracks your every move, get the Genius or Genius X before they assigned to the toothbrush graveyard!

Great toothbrush and the cleaning is excellent. Made a noticeable improvement to how clean my teeth looked and felt from my other Oral-B toothbrush Only thing I will say is the AI is terrible. Half the time it thinks you’re brushing the wrong teeth and then when it does detect the right ones, it will suddenly stop registering. So my scores for my brushing are all pretty rubbish because it thinks I’m not brushing enough, even though in reality, I’m brushing longer and more thoroughly than I ever have.

This is a fantastic product and a great replacement for my old Oral B brush which is now over 12 years old. I generally go and buy the top tier of any product if I can afford it and I have not been disappointed with this brush. Right from the first use, it has shown a marked improvement over my old brush. It's lighter and just feels better in my hand. In the companion app, you can select different journeys or projects. I selected the plaque fighting option and the app guides you to a perfect brush with a clear diagram of your mouth on screen. The case has built in a little phone cradle so you don't have to precariously lean your smart phone against shampoo bottles while you brush. My teeth after just one brush are visibly cleaner. There was a bit of visible plaque in-between two of my teeth and now it's barely visible. That clean feel is amazing. You can track any bleeding also which is a nice extra to see how the gum massage this brush gives you, affects any bleeding as time goes on. I like the medals you get also. A bit of a gimmick but I can imagine thst this is going to fare well with people who like to have a bit of a competition with themselves. Like the lunch time brush. I don't usually do that but I think I want that medal... It's an expensive product but think of the cost of dental repair that this can help avoid. If you can afford it (perhaps using Amazon's monthly payments?) you should go for it.

The toothbrush performs well when it works and cleans my teeth effectively. Unfortunately, the build quality has been very disappointing, especially considering the high price. My partner and I bought two of these when they were on sale. My partner’s toothbrush has worked perfectly, but mine suddenly stopped working for no apparent reason. I had to buy a replacement last year, and now that replacement has failed as well. I have always looked after it carefully. It has never been dropped, damaged, or misused, so I believe the issue is poor manufacturing rather than user error. Unfortunately, I won’t be getting my money back. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this product. Before this, I had a very basic Oral-B electric toothbrush that lasted for over 10 years. The only reason we replaced it was because the battery life had become poor—it still actually works. I’m not saying every product from this brand is bad, but having two of the same model fail in such a short time says a lot about its reliability.

The Oral B Brand has been around for a long time, I had many friends and family who had their own and raves about them but for years I was always put off purchasing an Oral B brush due to pricing. However I admit that was before I started working, so I am able to spend more now! Before the COVID situation I was able to have a check up and scale and polish at my dentist. During the appointment I was recommended an electric toothbrush to try to help combat plaque build up and also staining as I am a smoker. Luckily I was able to find a Genius X toothbrush on Amazon for £129.99! This was amazing compared to in store outlets selling for £300. Anyway I decided to order and I was able to get a free prime subscription so I have my new toothbrush in a day! Now that it’s here I cannot stop telling people about it ( my family & the internet due to isolation) and I am so thankful I am able to own this toothbrush! From first use my whole mouth & tongue were 100% fresher and I could feel the difference from before I had used the product. Not to mention the Oral B app lets you see what you are doing and what you can improve on! Over time I will be able to look back to see my data which is also handy! I am lucky to say I have never had issues with my teeth and also had orthodontic treatment young ( I had braces for 3 years so very happy with their appearance) so I was able to use this product without any sensitivity! On a personal note if you are still reading, the product might not be for everyone but I would recommend purchasing this toothbrush if you are able to afford it! At least try you will be impressed. Side note; No price is worth losing teeth or gum disease! The product and price are both investments for prevention of tooth loss/ decline in oral health! It’s a situation of; I wish I had bought this years ago. What could my teeth of been like now if I had? Of course a tooth brush will not replace professional care but I do believe that it will be key to prevention. 100% RECOMMEND

Initially I was pleased with this product. I liked the coaching app for brushing and how it alerted you to when you were brushing too hard. Have to say after a while the novelty of switching the app on when brushing wore off. Particularly in the mornings when I had an early start and did my usual of rushing out of the house. Then it just stopped working. It ran for about 5 seconds and then died. Luckily it was still under warranty and is being repaired but have to say for nearly 300 quid it really isn’t all that. I have had cheaper battery operated ones that do Just as well brushing wise and can’t really see the justification to pay as much as I did. Glad it’s still under warranty but if I had the option with the insight I have now I’d have spent about 50 quid on a brush rather than buy this one.

It doesn't come cheap. But like they say: you can't put a price on health, and in this case, that's oral health. I was shocked at how accurately the Oral-B app knew where exactly the Genius toothbrush was in my mouth at any given moment while brushing, and how it was quickly able to tell me that I was pressing too hard in certain areas. It's pretty unique and does seem to work really well!
