Ocean (Black And White) Board book – May 1, 2011

Black and white books are recommended for babies because it takes awhile for their vision to fully develop and see colors. This book is exactly what I was looking for. Each page has one large picture for the baby to focus on. No stories yet, just words that associate with the picture.

My daughter LOVED her black and white books when she was a newborn. She would just stare at them, amazed. Other books didn't hold much interest for her because her eyes were still developing. Black and white books are my "go-to" present for baby showers. I always buy them for friends because they help babies developmental growth and love for reading as they grow older. My daughter is 11 months and the black and white books remain to be her top favorite books to page through.

Originally took this out of the library for my grandson. He didn't want to return it so he got his own copy. He loves the black and white pictures and reading it to his toy animals. Great for identifying sea creatures and one word per page lets him associate the word with the picture.

Illustrations are not solid black like the cover suggests. The pictures are black outlines, like a coloring book. This is not normal for a baby black and white book. We did not use this one as a result. I do not believe it would help the eyes develop, but the shapes are cute.

Purchase this a few years ago, still holding up great. Very happy with this book, it’s on its second baby now and both have enjoyed it.

Great board book for my baby! Black and white books are awesome for little babies because they can clearly see black and white shapes, while if a book is in color it's harder for them to tell the difference between the shapes. So this book is a great learning book for my baby

Very cute - my 4 month granddaughter loves the black & white pictures as well as being able to stick the pages in her mouth (hardcover)
