I bought this as it was recommended by my physiotherapist to assist in my rehabilitation from a broken leg. I am suffering intense swelling of the ankle/foot area and have been using this pack to "ice" the swelling. It is very simple to use and can be worn whilst moving about, which is exceedingly handy. The velcro strap is very long, so would fit a range of uses and is nice and soft, so does not scratch/irritate at all. I have not yet used it for the heat application, which is why I have not rated that, however I imagine that it is every bit as functional as the ice application. I would thoroughly recommend as the cooling effect is very soothing and the ice pack greatly reduces the swelling of my limb after use.

I had read some reviews prior to purchase that suggested this product is not flexible at low temperatures as it claims to be. Having left the packs in my freezer overnight it does understandably lose a little of its suppleness but is still flexible and can still be bent around a limb. It quickly gains full flexibility as well. I have tried the item in the microwave as well, no issues there and it gets warm very quickly so be careful. The strapping is excellent although I do wonder how long the material will last with the hook and loop (velcro) pulling at it a few times a day. That said, these gel packs do expire in a few years; the dates are printed on the item.

I keep one in the freezer just in case and have another one that can be used for heat if neccessary. The strap keeps the gel pack on the right area well.

Previously, I've gotten by with makeshift ice packs at home but investing in this was a revelation. Very easy to use and extremely effective. I had a hip flexor injury and after using these ice packs for a couple of days, I was significantly better. I would definitely recommend them. I'm yet to use them as heat packs so I can't give a review on their effectiveness in that regard.

I bought a double pack to reduce inflammation in my ankle and foot following a triple fracture of my ankle following a skiing accident. The packs were delivered on time. Amazon used a rather large box to dispatch them. It would be good if Amazon invested in more bespoke packaging machinery, which does now exist.The packs themselves are very good and stay flexible even after freezing. the "kit" which comes with the pack is very useful for keeping the pack in place. The product description is wholly accurate.

One of the packs arrived damaged which they quickly replaced after I wrote them an email - very good service. The packs are nice slightly flexible to fit over my knees and the elastic wrap works very well - I think this is an excellent product. For pain relief ? The pain of the ice is more uncomfortable than the arthritis! Anyway I will follow the instructions of my physio and continue using them.
