Stunning and great for beginners
I only just started my tarot journey, and despite popular opinion to begin with the traditional Rider Waite deck, I never felt "drawn" to the mellow, washed out colors of that deck. However, when I stumbled upon this version, I was immediately drawn to the black and gold aesthetic and had to pick it up!Right off the bat: the storage box is very sturdy and easy to store, though the one sent to me did have a dent in the corner. Not a deal breaker, but just something to be mindful of. The inner packaging itself is very "mature," if that makes sense, designed in all black with just a hint of gold trim for that extra pop. I'm told the "Black and Gold" version has velvet lining, whereas this "Gold and Black" edition has more of a foam. I do kind of wish there was some consistency in that respect. The black tie inside makes pulling the booklet and cards out easy and convenient! And once you get to the cards WOW pictures do not do these cards justice! The gold foiling is absolutely stunning and the cards feel so sturdy in my hands. They're on the thicker side, especially compared to the Black and Gold cards, and have the traditional Rider Waite flower design embossed into the background of each card. I feel like I can bend and shuffle these cards without worrying they're going to fall apart. The reason I say these are great for beginners, is because the lack of the traditional yellows, blues, and reds encourages one to look more closely at the details and the meaning behind each image; that is to say, the monochromatic designs call forth intuition, which I think is a great thing to practice when starting out. However, I do believe some of the finer details do tend to feel a bit lost, which may inhibit more focused readers. For example, The Empress' dress loses the finer lines in the gold foil, as do the bull heads surrounding the King of Pentacles, or the crayfish in The Moon. The booklet that comes with the deck, while concise and straightforward, does leave me wanting a bit more. There are no pictures of the cards and no reversal descriptions, which I would find useful since I am still learning. Again, not a deal breaker though! The book is a generous tool and having it in multi-languages is also a nice touch!Overall, I am very pleased with this deck. It's just unique enough to stand out but simple and true to the original Rider Waite without straying too far.

Lovely!
Quality deck. I purchased for a deity specifically and it reads well. The only thing that I really don't care for is the book that comes with it for descriptions. It doesn't read reversals either. Some of the questions it poses for each description is nice though. Otherwise, I never use the booklet. The box is comes in is a nice experience and sturdy. I own another deck and even though they have the same amount of cards, the other deck is less bulky? It looks like there's more cards in this deck than there actually is. Not a problem at all though... just an observation. They feel very light to shuffle and enjoyable.

10/10!!!!!
Has to be one of my favorite decks i’ve ever seen. The guide book completely blew me away with the fact that it’s translated into 5 different languages, these follow as English, Italian, Spanish, French, and Portuguese. The deck itself it well made. They are on the smaller side so it is easy to handle the deck itself and shuffle the deck.

Great!
The media could not be loaded. So, I never do reviews for products.. but.. the cards are beautiful and I really feel a connection with them. However, the reason I want to write a review is the book! I think it’s the best tarot booklet I have ever gotten with cards. Honestly, the card explanations are better than half the tarot books out there.

Beautiful Deck, but was opened…
When I opened the package, the box wasn’t wrapped in package. I didn’t think anything of it but the cards were out of order. I ordered “new” not “pre-owned.” I made sure all the cards were there and will have to do a very thorough energy cleansing on the deck since I don’t know who touched them last.

Gold details are kind of ugly
I know this is based on the traditional Rider Waite, but come on... Gold paint is not detailed. Numbers are kind of blurry and the gold foil comes out in a heart beat. The box is great, the guide is good, the card stock quality is nice. Low points for the ugly gold details in some of the cards and card sizes because they are small for a professional tarot.
