Very good kit!
I am working on a neglected Nissan Xterra. There is a lot of rusty fasteners and this really helped restore those rusty threads.

Works great
I have used these several times and so far they have done the job every time. It’s had all the common sizes and threads for automotive use so far. No failure of the tool at all. Great for the price. Keep in mind these are not for cutting new threads in raw metal they are for repairing damaged threads already cut.

Excellent Tool
Reasonable price and good quality. Used the 8mm tap to straighten the threads on a bolt hole for the seat of my Honda Gold Wing (shown in picture). With a drop of oil, gently worked the tap in and out until the tap screwed in smoothly. Bolt screwed in smoothly thereafter too. Think patience is key, and oil helps a lot.

Made in USA
I needed to repair some threads on an older motorcycle. At first I was going to buy a tap and die set, then I found out about these. There is this set which is made in USA and then a bunch of knock of Chinese ones. I like to buy quality made in USA stuff when possible so figured I'd give these a shot. There was a review on these with one star that said they were made in China but he was either reviewing the wrong product, lieing, or mistaking since they are clearly labeled Made in USA. So far I have use the M6 and M8 and they definitely cleaned up and repaired the threads, I used anti-seize while using them as a lubricant.

thread restorer kit
good small kit to have in case these fit your nuts/bolts in use, otherwise you might need a larger set. Quality made and functional.

You Should've Bought This Years Ago
If you're working on old junk you need this set to clean out all your bolt holes and bolt threads. This is a thread chaser set, not a thread maker. Don't be dumb cranking on it and complain when it breaks. They are fairly brittle but will work fine with that in mind.

Impressed!
Fixed stripped motor mount threads in my aluminum engine block. I didn't realize I was threading one of them in crooked, due to the contorted position you gotta use due to tight space. It was so messed up, that when I went to pull the bolt out, I was worried it was gong to snap, since it was so tight backing it out.I had to apply a bit of pressure as I carefully started to get the tool to bite into the threads and catch, but from there it was smooth sailing. I went nice and slow, backing out and going a little further each time, like you do when cutting threads with a tap. I also used some lube, antiseize. I didn't have to place any real strain on the tool as I was tightening it, so didn't worry about it snapping. It carved through nicely. But I think that has something to do with going slowly, carefully, thoughtfully, using lube, and going in and back out often. I would really hate to make things worse by breaking one of these hardened steel tools in a bolt hole. Thinking of all the work that would be involved if that happened, made me very cautious. Which I think is a good thing here.I am really impressed with these things, and I can tell I will get a lot of use out of them. Much better than using a tap or die to clean up threads. These don't cut any material, mostly just reshape it, which is what you want if you are cleaning threads, not making new threads. This also means a lot less metal particles generated, which could be very important in some applications.

Cleans up dirty/rusty threads like new
I've only used this a couple times so far, but it seems like a good tool to have in the garage. I had to replace the rear struts on a 10 year old car. The top mount had a pair of studs welded into the wheel well that were pretty rusted up. The replacement mount came with new nuts, but they were very stiff to thread onto the rusty studs. Due to the positioning it would have been near impossible to run a die up the studs, but these thread chasers are perfect. I loaded it up with a little Tap Magic and hand threaded as far as it would go. From there I'd turn it on about a full turn with a wrench, then back it off a quarter turn and repeat. It scraped off a lot of rust and gunk. After chasing both studs I hit them with a little brake cleaner to remove the cutting fluid, and the nuts were then able to hand-thread all the way up the length. It probably wouldn't have been an issue to just run the new nuts up the studs, but due to the difficulty in replacing the studs if I snapped them, it felt much safer to clean them up first.I've also used the thread file to clean up some large threads on an axle... they're not perfect, but better than they were. There's definitely a technique to it, and I plan to practice more.

Amazing, my only regret is not buying the bigger set! Everything should be made in USA!

Saved me from a trip to the machinist!
Much less aggressive then a regular tap and die set. Works really well for dodgy aged internal threads on the old motorcycles I've used it on. Finding plenty of chances to use them.
