honestly could not be more a more perfect bag for a basic PPL student. fits headset, logbook and kneeboard snugly in the main pocket, room for pens and a fuel tester on each side with room for additional paperwork or other stuff in the front and back pockets.

I used this an older version of this pubs kit every day for nearly 5 years when flying the T-6/T-38 and again as a T-6 Instructor. That bag was made with quality material and I abused it daily - though I did have to re-stitch it closed several times.It finally gave its last breath in a B-52, and I ordered this as a replacement. The first time this new bag struck a metal edge, it tore a small hole in the fabric on the front. It seems like the newer bags are made with thinner material, and I suspect the sewing work will come apart soon too, like the older version.That being said, this is the best bag that I can find for aviation, so until a worthy competitor hits the market, this will have to do.

Overall, the flightbag is VERY useful. I used this for roughly six months, daily, while completing Air Force pilot training. It's has a durable fabric that is water resistant and will hold up to rough surfaces or being chucked into metal cockpits. The only issue I had, and the reason for 4 stars is this: the stitching on one corner started to come undone. I was able to take a needle and thread to it and fix it myself, but I feel like at this price, I should not have to do that.
