Tried 2 cuts, sent it right back.
I was hoping for better from the American made product. I tried two cuts on simple soft steel 1/8" wire rope with this, and it kind of just gnawed through most of the wire, leaving the center strands intact and making a mess of the strands it did cut. Looking at the jaws closed, you could see daylight through the center of where the cutting was supposed to happen. This had to be a factory defect, but I can't recommend this given the apparent lack of quality control at the factory.I ordered an HK Porter wire rope cutter for a couple of dollars less to replace it and it works like a champ, cutting easily and quickly, and the head is marked made in Japan (a good sign as far as I'm concerned).

The right tool for the job
If you have wire rope to cut, don't try using anything else. I was hanging some sun shades in our back yard, suspended with 1/4 inch steel wire rope. The guys at Lowes wanted to sell me bolt cutters to do the job, I know from past experience those just don't work as the rope gets smashed but not cut. I found these on Amazon, took a chance, and they cut perfectly through the steel wire rope with little effort.

Good for electrical cable
Klein is an awesome brand and these are very well made cutters. However, forget cutting wire rope unless it’s 1/8” or less. I kept these for electrical cable but purchased Felco C9 cutters for 3/16” wire rope.

Works perfectly
I needed a cable cutter and this one works perfectly. Nice even, sharp cut. Works as good and many more expensive models.

Deceptive.
Unimpressed, Heads up, photo is very deceptive. Jaws are tiny! Well, jaws may be large but the part that cuts is tiny. Seems purpose design to fool. Maybe I'll post some photos to better illustrate. Tiny jaws will only cut really small wire, not at all what I was looking for.
