M-G 8697-2 Head/Base Gasket for Ingersol Rand SS3 Air Compressor Replaces 54571609/97330658

Valve plate gasket is too thin for come SS3 compressors. Had to make a second gasket to stack on top to make it seal. Vendor offered refund, but I chose to work around because i needed the compressor.

Perfect match, lower quality material.

It wasn’t cut very well. In other words it didn’t line up with the casting which caused air leaks. It pinned the valves shut.

These gaskets are a total waste of time. The gaskets in this set do not fit properly. They look like the die used to cut them was worn out years ago. Produced from very thin cheap material. As shipped the gasket interfered with the valve operation. So trimming was required. After all the work of making them fit properly I reassembled and torqued the head. Compressor made it up to 80 psi. before blowing the gasket between the cylinders.Update: Found original Ingersol Rand brand gaskets and pump is back to full 135 psi. operation.

These are Junk! Absolutely junk, nothing more than felt paper, the real gaskets are made of by- metal, I had to have my friend who is a tech for ingersol rand get me real gaskets, these are pointless, useless crap

Fit well

I was very disappointed in the quality of the gasket material, and the fitment was terrible... the gasket lasted 24 hours... not worth a penny... save yourself the pain of doing the job twice ...don’t buy this.

The upper gasket(bottom one pictured) was too thin, unusable and wasn't cut properly at the ID. Good thing we were able to use the original and didn't destroy it during removal.They looked hand cut to. Garbage
