PERFECT introduction to lettering
We purchased this book a month ago and have enjoyed learning with it during quarantine!A fabulous tool for beginners, the workbook features many fonts and styles to practice and tips for troubleshooting your brushstrokes. The first two chapters introduce you to terminology and beginner fonts that don't require special pens to master. Later more specialized scripts are introduced, along with a very detailed section about making fluid connections between letters. Very straightforward instruction with intelligent progression of skills and information. The workbook is designed to be written in, but we used tracing paper so that every one in the house could practice... and practice and practice!

Good but pricey
Pro: colorful pages make it fun. The writer gives a detailed recommendations of which pens to use (i liked the fact she shared her favorite pens -- made it super easy to buy pens. Since there are so many different brands and pen types, lots of beginners get lost about the pens they need to buy. The contents is good (lots of practice pages).Cons: pricey considering the book isn't spiral-bounded. Many books offer two options - spiral bound and regular bound. Regular bounded books are cheaper ($6.99-$7.99).

Perfect and enjoyable instruction for beginning hand lettering
This book is beautifully written in an easy to follow along tone, perfect for a beginner, or someone with some hand lettering experience. It’s a joy to follow along using the prompts and practice sheets. Amanda walks you through the hand lettering experience from the very beginning with simpler letters until the end with the much more flourished and “bounce” style lettering so popular today! I’m extremely impressed that this is her first published book, and hope she follows up with more!

Good place to start!
The book is bigger than I imagined, which is lovely. The paper is think enough for calligraphy ink not to bleed through but there is some ghosting, as can be seen from the photo. One thing that made me remove one star from the rating is the fact that the book does not open flat and this impacts on the quality of handwriting. Very frustrating when you are learning to hand letter at the bottom of the left page as the book curves towards the middle. One solution is to cut the pages off and hole punch to keep together. But overall a very good book with variety of exercises and variations of hand lettering alphabets. The tips are very useful too.
