Fit my jump starter perfectly. Makes it easier to carry

This a the perfect case for the GB40. It fits perfectly and is a good value. That little 25 cent bag that NOCO supplies with the GB40 may be OK for some people - but I want a hard shell case for in my truck. I was kinda concerned that a might accidently bump the power switch if it was just crammed into the bag along with the cables and clamps. This Hermit Shell case is a good option. It is very sturdy yet affordable at 18 dollars. There are individual compartments for theGB40 unit and for the battery clamps. There is also a net inside the lid to store the instructions and the USB cable. There is another little compartment for the cigarette lighter adaptor. The case has a wrap around zipper to close it while it is in storage. It seems to be made of quality materials for its expected use. If given reasonable care the case should last for years.

This case works nicely with the new Noco Boost X GBX45. The GBX45 has the same footprint as the GB40, but is a bit taller. The Noco branded case for the GBX45 is nice (if expensive), but it's too large to fit under many front seats. This one is perfect for that use. With the advent of power lift gates, it may be difficult to reach your jump pack in the event of a dead battery. Under the seat is more accessible. Case quality is nice; zipper feels good. The case halves are different thicknesses (from the side) so I didn't think it was difficult to determine top vs bottom.

Case is approx. 2.75" tall 10.5" wide and 9" deep so it fits underneath my Totota Highlanders seat with no problem. It is a semi hard dual zippered case with molded interior sections for the NOCO GB40 device (fits perfectly) and the clamp cables. It also has a molded spot for the 12v car charger port and the usb cable fits next to the clamp cable. The interior top has a velco pocket for keeping the instructions. The only improvement would be for Hermit Shell to designate which side is the top...you could easily grab the case and open it upside down and wind up dumping your charger and cables on the ground. I resolved the problem by taking a regular household tack and drilling a 1/16th hole in the top portion of the case and using a hammer to flatten over the tack point (see photo). It would have been nice if Hermit Shell had used a "Logo pin or logo grommet" to do the same.
