Love it love it love it!
Works great for me! I only take 1mm passes, but I can do it at 300 ipm so I love it! I use it to do most of my initial milling because my jointer for up my chip barrel so quickly it makes everything take longer, so my cnc make small chips that take longer to fill instead of the big chips my spiral head joint leaves. So I use this bit A LOT! Mine is fast, balanced, and sharp, it also leaves a smooth finish. I wish I found it much earlier. I have an altmill with a spindle so idk if that makes a difference, but it's great!

Great surfacing bit
As someone just getting into some wood working it can be overwhelming to think about the different tools and equipment you need to do things. I can't buy rough milled lumber and save money because I don't gave a planer. A good piece of advice is buy things like router bits as you need them and don't get the cheapest thing. This surfacing bit is large enough to cut down on time, well made to do a pretty clean job, and thoughtful enough to be able to rotate the cutting blades for extended life. My first few times using this have been excellent. It cuts clean, smooth and flat lines allowing me to get the job done that a planer and joiner could do. Yes, those other tools would be faster but since I already have a router, a simple sled allowed me to get 2 flat surfaces that needed nothing more than finish sanding. I've used this to reduce thickness of boards and take out some errant marks made from milling. Extra screws are nice especially because they're likely a specific size to hold the cutting blades. The 1/2" shank keeps everything secure and tends to heat up less than 1/4" This should be good for all wood types and I'm sure it will work for soft metals like aluminum or brass without destroying the blades. I am very happy with the purchase.

it's ok, but maybe better options
Bought the 1/2" shank 2" diam. 3 tooth bit (just because it seemed most reviews were of that one). Needed to flatten out a walnut end grain cutting board with a handheld router (Bosch 1617) and a janky router sled. Process: Made sure the sled was not warped at all, and was clamped securely. Shimmed the material to be flattened to be level as possible, and then shimmed it securely to the sleds perimiter (no wobbling, no sliding). Recommended speed for a 2" bit seems to be 12-16,000RPM, so I started it out at setting 2 (13,500), taking it slowly, removing only about 1/16". It really dragged, and the surface was fairly torn up. Bumped it up a couple times between the sides, and ended up getting best results at 4 (20,000 rpm), a bit higher than top recommendations, still keeping the cuts very shallow. The sled ended up being stable, and the bit worked fairly well. Note: I overlapped my sweeps by 3/4" inch or so. Doing it again, I think getting one with cutters on the top (bottom) as well as might be a better option, especially considering the additional cost is negligible. Or, maybe that 6 cutter head one would be better. If I had one of those woodworking channels, I'd do that comparison. As others have mentioned, I would have liked an additional 1/4" of shank. All in all, results were fair. Worth it for the amount of times I will use it. I would upgrade to one of the above mentioned bits if I were to continue to use a router sled for more than a few projects over time (and I would get something with rails and a dust collection system if I were doing larger projects).

Spoilboard surfacing router bit, 1/2" shank
This router surfacing bit is a monster! I have it attached to my 1 1/2 hp Porter Cable router and it works great! I have used this bit extensively and it shows no sign of wear. I was worried that my router would get hot, using such a large bit, but I am able to take a 1/16" to a 3/32" cut on black walnut and my router doesn't even flinch. It does put out a very large amount of router shavings though! I highly recommend this 1/2" shank router bit!

Great for the price
I just got this today so I obviously can't speak for the longevity of this item yet. Also I don't write a lot of reviews and usually only when really good or really bad. This thing is fantastic. I got the 1/2 inch shaft 2 inch diameter 6 blade. Using it to level epoxy / wood pours for shelves. I have been using a 2 blade and it started gouging. I will check back in after a couple of pours.

Better than expected
I was pleasantly surprised how well this tool worked. At this price point I was concerned that the tool wouldnโt be balanced well and would have to run at low RPMs. Knives were sharp and it performed great. In the video- 1200 RPM @100 inches per minute

A Flattening BEAST
Built a gian 22x22x6" chopping block made of white oak, and needed a way to flatten it. It was too tall for my CNC, so I used a router sled and this chonk of a flattening bit. Having flattened on a CNC with a wee 1/2" bit, I started this taking a tiny amount and overlapping by half. After a few minutes, I noticed I was getting dust, not chips. Rather than size the board in tiny steps, I lowered the bit a couple of mm to try again. I was paying attention to make sure the router didn't get bogged down, the board didn't move, and that my lines looked clean. This thing just CHEWED through the endgrain and left me with a super flat surface with no burnout whatsoever. Sanding from this point was so easy with such a smooth surface. If you're on the fence, get off the fence and buy the thing. It's a chonk, seems like it's a great quality, and the price is right as well.

Quality bit.
Great product, comes with protective glue on the bit to protect it from rust etc. so you donโt need to use it straight away. Very sharp and has proven itself to be a quality item. I would buy again.

Very nice cut
I purchased this to flatten large wood slabs with my hand held router(DeWalt 2.25hp) - it is working well so far. I've leveled/flattened 2 24 inch by 16 inch slabs. Zero issues, and a quality cut line. I'm very happy with this product (again, so far). Will update if any issues arise.
