Abandoned or Forgotten: Overlooked Corners of South Jersey Paperback – December 10, 2018

If you live in south Jersey (or used to, like me) and love it, this book is for you. It talks about and explains the history and stories. The book shows the interesting yet little known historical sites, monuments, ghost towns, war sites, and unique graves; and has about 100 colored photographs.After reading the book I did, of course, take a few journeys to see these little known, but interesting places. Really interesting !!

I have read about 10 or so books that pertain to this type of topic on NJ and this is by far the best in my opinion. I'm interested in day trips to see these places so the pictures provided and the directions are perfect for someone like me. I see other books that talk about ghost towns that there is no trace of today, which seems kind of pointless to me. If my memory serves me correctly, everything has a full color picture. If I had one complaint it would be that I wish the book was longer which to me is the best complaint you can have. Just ordered the Eastern PA one and looking forward to that!

Great book. Easy to read. Lots of pictures. Even mentions quaint places to eat in the area. An explorers delight.

This book brings back many memories of out of the way places that I used to explore in New Jersey! Very well done and educational!

This book set out to accomplish a few things detailed in the introduction, including highlight place of some historic significant, interesting to anyone with a sense of curiosity and free to visit and to some extend off the beaten path. Each of the 20 or so entries hits the mark on all of these point. Somewhere between a reference book and picture book, the text is short and picture are plentiful. Even is some picture are of just grass fields, the author details each to help draw a 360 picture to give you the feel of the location. The book does exactly what it set out to do, nothing more and nothing less.

I love South Jersey. I <3 Stowinsky. He is my favorite teach- i mean author of all time. All hail the stew!
