In Clean Design, Robin Wilson blends concepts of sustainability, eco-friendliness and hypoallergenic or non-toxic living into an interesting, informative and highly useful book. I would recommend this book to anyone who is planning to remodel--or to buy or build--a home, regardless of their interest in the issues that drive Robin's approach. The first half of the book provides guidelines, tips and case studies for designing every room in the house. Lots of sidebars, bullet lists and intelligent headings make it easy to find the information you need at-a-glance. The second half dives deeper into the principles of clean design for those who are really interested in how to make their living spaces as environmentally friendly and non-toxic as possible. This part of the book is especially useful for those who want to minimize asthma and allergy triggers in their daily lives.The book is written in clear, well-turned English and is illustrated with photographs that are as beautiful as they are descriptive. There is no hidden agenda in the book to promote specific manufacturers or products, including the author's own. This is a great, very practical book on living space design that is well worth its modest purchase price.

A wealth of useful information. I suffer some from seasonal nasal allergies that are kept well in check with Flonase. I will soon be moving into a brand new manufactured home and will certainly put some of her suggestions into place.

Enjoyable read & a good quick resource book but I was familiar with the information. I don't feel as if I learned anything new.

Love the rooms, the thoughts help with redesigning my home.. Highly recommend this book.

There seems to be useful info, but it is just too hard to read through the cloud viewer- I can't adjust the font size. (And it doesn't say it is compatible with regular kindles.)

I can't really read it on my phone - it is mis-sized on the screen and pictures don't come thru. I have to read on my computer....

Standards are set by consideration of the tangible environment. This is a great set of guidelines for the very frugal and concientious caretaker of our surroundings.
