Great images and descriptions
I like how this Bible really digs deep into certain questions that we might have . For example the descriptions on who the people are and what a tabernacle is and what a Passover is, and the plagues all of those things have really good descriptions. I like the images they’re very bright and easy to follow. The only negative thing I have to say is that sometimes I feel a verse that should have a bigger explanation usually has only one or two lines so that can be a bit frustrating sometimes during studies but I have found that if I just go find that somewhere else, it’s fine. I use this Bible study alongside my regular Bible and it worked very well so I’ll just read the scripture along with my audio Bible and then whatever questions I have I just look inside of this book and it’s really helped me delve deeper into my Bible studies. I would recommend for sure.

Awesome material, bad binding
I love the layout of this Bible. The full color layout gives this almost a textbook feel, makes the material more engaging, the charts and side bar articles are really useful, and the notes are helpful and easy to read (great font size). The paper is a little thin, so there is some ghosting, but it’s not as thin and wrinkly as “onion” thin paper you find in some Bibles. The only thing I dislike is the glued binding because it won’t hold up well. I decided to go with the hardcover in hopes that will put less strain on the binding. And I intend to use this when it can be placed on a flat surface. If this was a sewn binding I would have gone for a leather like cover and I would have gifted this is several people. I hope the publisher will release newer editions with the sewn binding soon, that will make this my most recommended Bible for new Believers and for first time study Bible shoppers. These same study notes and articles are also included in the Filament Bible, but it’s so much easier to read them (and not miss any) in printed form, especially if you’re reading cover to cover. While it isn’t available in a large print format, it’s still a nice font size.

First time reading the Bible? PLEASE GET THIS!!
The NLT is such a gift from God. Unlike the ESV or NKJV or the usual 'more literal' Bible translations, the NLT really helps the reader understand what is being said in a way that neither distorts or alters God's word. Every time I cross-check verses with literal translations, the NLT holds up beautifully. So please, please, please, PLEASE --- if this is the first time you are reading the Bible -- do yourself a favor and read through the NLT. Do you need a strategy? Start by reading Romans, 1 John, 1 Corinthians, etc and just read all the super short Epistles first. Easy. If God's word speaks to you, you'll feel it after reading these short letters. If not, then maybe some other time. Wanting more? Then read the Gospels and Acts, then finally Revelation, THEN go back to the beginning and start with Genesis and read through the entire Bible. This illustrated study Bible does such a wonderful job at helping you read through and understand everything, so I beg you, please, don't make the same mistake I made starting with the ESV - start with THIS. I wish you luck dear Amazon shopper. Reading the Bible has completely changed my life. I hope it does the same for you.

Informative and aesthetic
I have a lot of Bibles, study Bibles and commentaries, and this one is my favorite one because of the amount of notes as well as the aesthetic quality of the book with full color and beautifully smooth calendared paper.

Great addition to your Christian resources library.
This is one of my most enjoyed Bibles. It is packed with color illustrations, maps, a Hebrew and Greek word study in the back, and just chock-full of information. The New Living Translation is in an easy-to-read current sentence structure, which makes for a more enjoyable read for those who can't handle a King James, ESV, NASB, etc., which are "heavier" more authoritative reads. Don't misunderstand, I own and love those, (because they are more powerful), but I also find great value in the NLT which is great for lighter reading, and doesn't mess with the true message of God, as so many "Bible Lite" versions do.

Just buy it!
I can’t put this bible down! It’s very visually appealing. I’ve read the entire bible twice and didn’t really understand it until I bought this bible. The charts, timelines, images, it’s all so very helpful. Thank you Tyndale! It’s certainly worth more than it sells for. (I bought it for around $31 USD.) lastly, the NLT translation provides so much clarity if you struggle to understand scripture.
