Solder Seal Heat Shrink Butt Connectors
I made a test piece using #10 on one side and #12 on the other. Wish there were instructions with these. I heat shrank the insulation and could see the solder melt around the wire. They seemed to be OK electrically but mechanically I wasn't sure. I sliced off the insulation and wasn't pleased with the penetration of the solder. It was relatively easy to pull the joint apart so I'm not using these for my installation but instead am using a crimp heat shrink joint. Wish they were better but the joint just didn't give me the confidence that they would hold up in a situation with a bit of vibration possible. Again, wish there was an instruction sheet so I knew if I was doing the joint properly.

Love These Things
I use these solder heat-shrink tubes for anything which has even a small chance of contact with the elements. I've used them on custom automotive wiring harnesses (which run along the undercarriage of the vehicle - direct exposure to the elements, road grime and car washes), outdoor extension cord repairs and other electrical projects (I've even used them to repair the control for a heated massage recliner). I've used multiple gauges of the solder heat shrink tubes and all I have to say is once you start using these, it's going to be really hard to go back using other means to connect and seal wire connections.

I like these
I'm building a boat and have wired up everything from the trailer lights to the stereo and in between stuff like LED light bars and harnesses with these. I've used darn near the entire box which kind of blows me away as I didn't realize I'd need so many. Anyhow, first few were a bit tough but once I learned the method the rest of them came out really clean with good solder melt and shrink wrap. I think some of the reviews people had problems with they're likely using a lighter or torch and not a real heat gun, also I found using low setting on the heat gun and heating it up slow and methodically yielded far better results than the high setting.

Good quality
I can say with complete confidence that if you use a heat gun on high power, you will create solder wire joints that exceed OEM factory quality in terms of seal, mechanical and environmental integrity. There is no way a wire connection can fail when these are used correctly. Beyond exceptional!

Works awesome
I was hesitant on trying these, they had good reviews and wanted an alternative to crimp connectors. Let me tell you, these are amazing and I wished I knew about them sooner, I doubt I ever use a crimp connector again unless it for something quick and temporary. The connnection on these are far superior to a crimp connection in my opinion.

Don't waste your time
Absolute garbage. Solder will not flow. Shrink tubing melts away, exposing wire and solder still not melted. I tried 10 times with the same result, using a heat gun on low and high setting. Don't waste your money on these, if you want your wires connected. Original crimp-style and shrink sleeves are the best route.

Small crimp ring
The crimp ring inside is about 4 CM wide, sorry i just do not get it. I am working with 10AWG wire and this just wont hold but one wire at a time.

Works great!
As soon as the connectors arrived I tested one on 10 ga wire. I used my 1800 watt heat gun. It took about 45 seconds for the solder and adhesive to melt and bond. The finished joint looks perfect! I will be building a wiring harness to install a VHF radio and intercom in my RZR, should do the job well. Thanx, Gerry, Eureka, MT
