Lord of the Abyss & Desert Warrior: An Anthology (Harlequin Nocturne: Royal House of Shadows) Paperback – November 22, 2011

This book is great but in order get this book you have to read the first three book of the series Royal House of the Shadows and if like/love Vampires, Werewolves, Wizards/Witchs, and creepy ugly creatures then these books you will want to read because I have all 4 of the books in the series and I've read all of them and I LOVE them all. The books are about a family of 4 children who are the heirs to the throne of Elden where the Bad Guy killed their parents the King and Queen of Elden but before their parents died they used the last of the magic to send their children away to a save place and they all lose their memories but they have something their parents put in all of their heads was revenge and survival. They each had a guide to lead them back to Elden to kill the bad guy and reclam the throne that is rightfully theirs. Each of the royal children fall for their guides and marrys them when the win the battle for the throne, and I'm just saying if you like what I just said and don't take my word for it but I love this books & you will to when you read all for books of the series.

Out of the 4 books written for this series I think this was my favorite. I am not sure why, other than sometimes my own husband acts like the lord of the abyss. A grown man but still he acts like a child. Also, she made the heroin not so perfect on the outside, but she was perfect on the inside and he saw that. I think that Nalini is an excellent writer, making this story flow smoothly. I couldn't put it down. Showalters is one of my favorite writers right next to Ward, but I think Nalini is going to sneak up there in my must reads.

I enjoy reading these books. The book was in good repair and came in a timely fashion. I am pleased with the order.

I can't believe I Almost over looked this book. My favorite author never disappoints me. I enjoyed these stories so very much. Makes you reach out to touch and see the beauty...

Although I really enjoy Nalini Singhi's books and have already rated her books with a five star, this one doesn't do justice to her great ability to make you stay hours seated until you finish hers books. This is the only reason I rated this book with a three stars. I recommend you read the 'Guild Hunter' series.

Lord of the Abyss is another wonderful story from Nalini Singh with characters I cared about right from the start. There was a second novella along with this that wasn't as strong, but for Lord of the Abyss alone I would recommend buying this book!

I thought this book was very entertaining. I am fan of the author and I truly enjoyed this novella. Lots of interesting things going on and I liked the main characters. Definite read.

A wonderful love story. I truly enjoyed their story. Nalini's books always touch my heart. This desert land and its sheik will make you wish to be find one of your own.

i found this book fascinating, its the last in a 4 book set and by far the best, 4 siblings seperated by magic must come together to defeat a great evil which murdered their parents. This book is about the youngest sibling Micah only five years old when disaster struck his family he has no memories of his childhood and having grown up alone is now the master of the abyss the lord whose responsibility it is to deal with and dispose of the worst evildoers in the realm. Along comes Liliana who has come to find Micah, planning to reawaken his memories so he will join with his siblings and destroy the evil sorcerer who murdered his parents only she does not find the monster she was expecting but a hauntingly beautiful, strangely innocent young man who has been cursed to change into a beast when angered. Micah's character is very well written, emotionally he is still five years old, and the author capures his manner and behaviour perfectly, he is fascinated by Liliana the first person he's ever met not to be totally terrified of who he is, yes some of the plot is obvious, Liliana is so ugly she's obviously been cursed, but i just fell in love with Micah he is one of those characters you want to go back in five years and see how his life is now. very much the best book in this set.

guilty pleaseure

This book had 2 great stories within its pages. The 1st story was a great fantasy with young love. I love Nalini's imagination, creating this world with its creatures. I only wish the story was longer, I found that it ended too quickly and I was left wanting more!The 2nd story was amazing and heart wrenching, if any one knows what its like to try and trust someone you love, only to have your heart broken. You will be emotionally gripped by the characters in this book. It is a must read on my list!!!

...da wär doch mehr möglich gewesen. Der Anfang der Story ist noch spannend und macht Lust auf mehr. Leider geht dann für die Hauptcharaktere einfach alles zu leicht. Der Lord of the Abyss muss gar nicht erst darum gebeten werden, sich zu öffnen, er schmeißt sich Liliana in vielen Szenen förmlich nach. Die weiteren "sehr schweren" Prüfungen, die sie bestehen müssen, rasen an dem Leser vorbei, inkl. der Lösung. Als "schwer" habe ich keine wahrgenommen, so schnell war ich durch die Stelle... Ich hab mir das Buch gekauft, weil ich großer Nalini Singh Fan bin, aber hier bin ich nicht auf meine Kosten gekommen.
