Caught on fire
I had only used this heater 3 times before it failed and caught on fire. The heating tape wasn't overlapped, and failed at the very end of the tape where the leads connect. This caught the end of the heating tape on fire and luckily as I scrambled to turn the power off, the leads burned off the end of the heating tape so the power was cut. I can't really say I can recommend this or could use it again without worrying about failure.
