BerrocoModern Cotton-Tiverton 1623

I bought 3 skeins of the Berroco Modern Cotton, & I like it a lot. I have already knit with Berroco Remix Yarn, which has a nubby texture. But I wanted a smooth yarn, to knit a new scarf, for my husband . So, I bought this Modern Cotton, & it's perfect for my project.This cotton is so very soft, & it's smooth against the skin. It's perfect to use for even baby clothing or blankets. I have not yet knit with it, but I did wind up one of the hanks into a ball. I was happy to see that there were no knots in the first hank. The color I bought is called Hammersmith, & I was happy to see the color matched the photos.The seller, Wool & Company, wrapped the yarn in tissue paper, & they gave me a small, complimentary gift, a stitch marker made of metal, with a bead. It's very pretty & has no open links that could snag yarn. The seller also wrote me a note of thanks, & that personal touch is always nice.

I bought this yarn for a baby hat. Be advised, it’s not worsted like Berroco claims, it’s more a dk weight. Lovely colors.

Pros and Cons:Pros:1. Silky soft mercerized cotton, the look of silk without the price.2. Incredible colors, with saturated jewel tones, layered neutrals, strong pastels.3. Lovely drape.4. 100 gram skeinsCons:1. Splitty. My inline hooks can snag and my tapered hooks split the plies if I wasn't paying attention.2. More of a DK, which I prefer to work with, but that means more yardage for patterns that call for #4/worsted.3. Can be pricey.I still adore this yarn, though, for its lustre, drape, and cool feel against the skin.

I love this yarn!! So soft to work with. And warm, warm, warm.
