No more burned food!!!
Helped confirm our suspicion that we had an oven thermostat problem so saved repair costs. Now the oven is fixed, temperatures can be set much more accurately so the results of baking and roasting have been so much better. No more overcooking. There are cheaper options but I wanted a brand i could trust. Okay, it won't come with a calibration certificate but it's very well made and easy to read. The only downside for me is that it fits quite loosely on our site racks so it's too easy to accidentally move it into a position where reading is made more difficult. Well worth the money and I would wholeheartedly recommend it.

Well Constructed - Could do with more thought
Used to check and set oven temps. more accurately ( as do most purchasers). Found, as suspected , my oven to be well over oven dial settings.Unit built like a tank compared to some previous flimsy devices I've had.Found it has quite a lag in the temperature registering and settling out. The clip / stand arrangement doesn't work well for my oven as the oven shelves wire don't allow for a good catchment with the wide catch, similair issues to another reviewers video posted earlier (which needs to be - for me - either even wider or narrower to fit over or between adjacent rail bands). Finally , the easy to read dial : well it is when held out of the oven , but no so much when in the oven where the dial is too busy and dark to see without the aid of a torch, and touch of contortionism.Summary:Poor Points: Sluggish to register, clip /stand arrangement not great, the 'easy to read dial' isn't ( for me);Good points: Strong Construction, probably accurate, good value at price I paid at the time, far better that the flimsy 'tin' ones you see in various guises.

Nice Design, Poor Quality
Used this thermometer 10+ times at 230C and the glass has become cloudy. It has 'browned' somewhat and has lost its clarity so it's difficult to see the temp numbers being displayed. Returning it.

Far more accurate than the oven
We had been struggling with accurate temperature control in our aging oven. This thermometer gas given us confidence in achieving and cooking at the right temperature. The dial is easy to read and it hangs squarely on the oven shelf. It has useful guides on the dual to help.

Well built, accurate and easy to read.
This is a well-constructed item that looks like it will last forever. Most people buy an oven thermometer to check and verify the temperature of their own oven. That being the case, there's an interesting dilemma here. If the thermometer gives one reading but the oven gives a different reading, which one do you accept as being correct?I suspected that my own oven was running at a slightly higher temperature than it was showing. How to check if I'm right or wrong? - buy an oven thermometer. After sifting through the entire Amazon catalogue of thermometers, I plumped for this one; it seemed to me to be the best compromise between accuracy, legibility, solidity and price. It turns out that after parting with my £14 for this item, I now find that the temperature that shows on this thermometer exactly matches the temperature at which my oven is set. This is immensely reassuring, even if I still have a nagging doubt at the back of my mind that both devices might be incorrect. Anyway, now that I've checked the temperatures, I'm not sure I really have any further need of the temperature gauge. It now sits happily redundant on the bottom shelf of the oven...For what it's worth, this is an easy-to-read device that is very well constructed. It has the option to either hang from a shelf or stand on top of one, so that makes it pretty versatile. It heats up at the same temperature as the oven - there's no lag or delay in the reading it gives. And it's a mistake to think it will be cool when you take it out of the oven. Like anything that's been in a hot oven, it's not a good idea to touch it until it's had a good chance to cool down. Can I fault this thermometer? Not really. I have absolutely no way to find out whether it's completely accurate, as that would require precision laboratory calibration, but at least it has given me the confidence to trust my own oven. And that alone is worth the cost of this item. It's well built, easy to read, and relatively inexpensive. Highly recommended.I hope you've found this review helpful.

Works well.
We used it to cook the goose on Christmas Day and it worked well. At the same time we changed the thermostat on our oven.Although this was not the cheapest I consider it value foe money after reading the comments on the cheaper oven thermometers.

Style over function
After a lot and I mean a lot of research I purchased this model. Looks great, large display however really hard to see without a flashlight in the oven. Initially I realised it was about 20°C out, but overtime it got worse. As you can see this is the thermometer in my fridge reading 300°C! I think it’s slightly out.It also has the same issue as every other oven thermometer I've bought, it doesn't stand or clip on in the oven, it just falls over. I've ditched oven thermometers now and opted for a barbecue one which has multiple probes.
