Don't paint evenly.

these are very very soft, not like the firm ones you might be used to, any pressure when loaded and the paint drips out like crazy, i was using a lacquer paint - perhaps a latex might be a bit better but i doubt it.. i threw them away

I bought it for the size, and this purchase turned out to be a mistake. The paint goes on unevenly, and the foam is so filmsy even applying gentle pressure forces the handle against the surface enough to mar the paint. Even after 4 coats it will still uneven and I gave up and did my best to spay over the mess with a paint sprayer.You can get equally crappy, but much less expensive given you don't need to buy a separate handle, "sample paint rollers" at Home Depot. Or, if you can make due with 4" in the space you're covering, better mini rollers at Dollar Tree.
