High quality, low price, lots of columns to roll
Wow my fingers hurt after building this model. It wasn't "fun" like the OWI aluminum kits are and I don't think kids would enjoy this at all, it wasn't as enjoyable as I find taking apart and building/fixing wristwatches, but it was an interesting experience. The only difficulties I had were: many of the flat vertical ledge pieces fell off no matter if I bent the tabs up or down so I'd try to have one going each way which helped a little, but it was still a race to attach pieces on to before the ledges fall off BECAUSE I bent all the tabs instead of twisting the ones marked with green triangles because they look nicer that way, but it made assembly a tad more difficult. Also, near the end there are pieces marked "up" that you bend into a triangle to capture the front friezes: put the friezes (thin triangle of statues) on before bending the "up" pieces into a triangle around them and don't unbend it or else it will fall apart. One of mine fell apart but it was still usable and I couldn't see a difference one I was done-but it was harder to assemble the multiple broken parts. The worst part was rolling the (40!) columns: my set came with two sticks to use as a form. Use the thinner one, the thicker one seems to have no purpose/included as a mistake? My kit came slightly bent even though it was packaged with other items I ordered, but in the end my finished product looks 99% like the product photo (my roof is a a millimeter too high). I looked this model and I built it during a snow storm but I'm not sure I'd give this kit as a gift to anyone, unless they had the temperament for it. The kit was well cut, the instructions weren't bad but we're kind of odd because it's a flow chart that leaves out the connecting arrows between boxes and sometimes you go down and sometimes to the right, but it's only one big page so it's not bad. Make sure in the last box you use the inner set of slots/holes when told to.

Very enjoyable building experience
I enjoy intricate models and this Metal Earth Model is one of my favorite builds. The Parthenon is very iconic and the this model depicts it very well. The set includes two small plastic dowels that you use to make the columns. At first it was very difficult wrapping the small flat sheets around these plastic dowels, but once you get your technique down, it's a breeze. Another difficult part is aligning all the tabs on the multiple columns to the ceiling plate. The trick is to actually bend the ceiling sheet and place the tabs in pairs. It may look like you will end up with a wrinkled ceiling but once all the column tabs are done, it' pretty flat. The columns tabs actually help to flatten this part out.

Impossible to put together. The columns split in half ...
Impossible to put together. The columns split in half if you try to roll them on the little plastic rod because it is to big for the columns to wrap around. They won't turn into a cylinder

so many columns
This was a gift to someone that really enjoyed the first model kit. The pictoral instructions seemed pretty easy. As other reviewers have mentioned, there are a lot of columns. But it was funny to watch the builder walk away frustrated then come back for more. It's not necessary but a set of pliers would be eaisier on the fingers and make the project more enjoyable.

This is a very small but challenging model and NOT a toy.
This product and all of the Metal Earth items are not toys. They are an intricate model that takes patience and skill to complete. They were not FUN to put together but challenging. The result s very satisfying and the models striking. Do not give this to a child or anyone who has a short attention span or gets frustrated easily. They are fragile before you start building, during the building process and after. The metal bends very easily and care must be taken to properly shape those pieces that require shaping. The right tools are essential. You will need fine needle nose pliers, tweezers, straight edges for bending, a shear cutter to remove the pieces from the metal sheet and a good magnifying lamp. The effort will be worth it.

Excellent quality!
Beautiful but patience is a virtue to assemble it.

Very small
Size in item description is of the envelope the model is delivered in. Model is a lot smaller than that. Haven't decided whether to put it together or return it as it is not what I wanted.

She found it challenging but enjoyed building it
Bought this for my twelve year old daughter. She found it challenging but enjoyed building it. I did hear some shouts of frustration as she read how many columns she was going to have to make, but in the end she was so proud of her finished product. She was a big lego builder and these are a great more challenging build. Bonus they are a lot cheaper than legos!!!

Fun 3D model kit
These are fun kits. This kit was fairly easy to put together. Takes time to roll all the pillars. Something to do when watching films or listening to music.

Looks fantastic once done, but definitely not for the first-timer.
This is the 18th one that I've made and boy, was it a challenge. Each one of those pillars (48 of them) has to be formed around a plastic rod provided for the purpose, which is a great idea. I realised why they give you two of them. It's so you can draft somebody in to make some for you, sort of contract it out. Bribery may be required. Very tough on the fingertips. I would advise making all the pillars before fitting them, as you do get into a sort of rhythm. When it comes to fitting the pillars to the base, I did that before fitting the skirts to the base. I would also test-fit each pillar from the other side to make sure the tabs are the right distance apart. It also goes without saying, make sure the seams are on the inside. It may also be worth picking out 4 pillars with the neatest seams for the corners, as the seams are visible. Luckily each pillar only has a single tab at the top, but there are 40 of these to fit into 40 holes in the upper plate. That's fun and games. But that's the hardest part out of the way. When you finally fit the roof (rather than hit the roof), it's all worth it.

Sieht super aus!
Einfach super!
