If writing dials-to-ten indie alt-rock is a science, Too Shabby is what will earn Rozwell Kid their PhD. The West Virginians’ new LP, out November 18th via Broken World Media, showcases a sharpened, louder band that hasn’t lost any of their quirkiness or charm. Recorded by Justin Francis, Too Shabby is a fun, infectious, and kinetic record that features an intelligence that is more present than ever in Rozwell Kid’s career. Excuse me, Dr. Rozwell Kid’s career.

Rozwell Kid's Third Album Impresses
This album shines as a testament to Rozwell Kid's ability to seamlessly blend elements of PowerPop, Garage Rock, and Pop/Punk into a cohesive and infectious final product. Too Shabby has real "staying power" with each listen (as all their albums seem to have) and you'll find yourself humming the tunes over and over long after you've stopped listening to the album. The guitar melodies from Hudkins and Meisterhans have such power and emotion and the rhythm section of Donnelly and Hallok provide excellent foundation for the wild and ranging guitar solos found throughout. The band is best known for their sillier songs that can range from being about indigestion to car trouble, but this album finds slightly more serious moments in songs like "droner" that are a pleasant surprise. But not to worry, songs like "Halloween 3.5" bring back the zany lyrical content fans have come to enjoy. Too Shabby is their strongest release to date.

Too Shabby is anything but
If you have not listened to Rozwell Kid I recommend doing so. Fun, upbeat, semi-weird lyrics with catchy hooks. Great band, great album.
