I used these Root Riot starter cubes to start flower seeds. They worked incredibly well! Some of my seeds popped up the very next day. I used them in starter trays with a humidity dome, on a heat pad and grow lights of course. The little plants grew fast and very healthy with a strong root system. Super easy to use and zero mess compared to using starter soil.

Work good just pop in some cuttings but make sure they already have roots first. Like starting tomatoes in water. They make the hole in the cube slightly bigger with a chopstick.

What a great name for seed-starting plugs. They work, too. I have experienced excellent results both for winter sprouting and summer seed starting outside. Leftover plastic containers from frozen foods and kitchen products make useful trays for the plugs in a sunny spot indoors or on the patio/balcony in the shade. Keep water in the tray so the plugs are always damp and you will soon see tiny green leaves emerging from the hole at the center of the plug. This assumes you actually got the seed into the center. I have had them sprout even from out on the edge. This type of plug is better, in my opinion, than the all-peat variety I made the mistake of trying because they were slightly cheaper. In this case, you get what you pay for. When your seedling reaches about two inches or you see roots growing out of the bottom of the plug, transplant into a four inch pot or directly into the soil (after hardening off if you have sprouted your seeds indoors). Or you can sink the plug into the soil of the four inch pot right from the beginning and keep the whole pot in a tray with an inch of water in the bottom, which will wick up and keep the soil and plug damp. Starting your own plants from seed is eminently satisfying and cost effective, too. It doesn’t get any better than that!

These have been a game changer for my tissue cultures! I really struggled with keeping them alive before, but since I’ve switched to these rooting plugs, every single one is thriving!

Nothing beats this brand for hydroponic/aeroponic planting systems. Fit perfectly into the plastic net pots. Pre cut holes make it easy to place seeds at the right depth. Great results with germination.

I love these - absolutely perfect for starting seeds. My germination success rate with cannabis seeds is 100% (quality, viable seeds are a necessity, of course), which is a little better than with rockwool cubes. Equivalent to a popular "rapid" competitor. Nothing is better, as these hold just the right amount of water with a perfectly airy texture to promote fast root growth with little chance of rot from too much moisture. Excellent for cloning from cuttings as well as seeds, and compatible with soil, soilless mixes, and every hydroponic variant I'm aware of. Organic too, and absolutely worth every penny.

Excellent product and works well. Had to split them in half to put my terminated seeds in but held together well in propergator. Would recommend

Most media works for cuttings but with these I have loads more success, no idea why but time and trial and error have made these my go to for cuts every time.

seeds quoted 14-21 germination but i've got 24 seedlings after just 6 days - incredibly quick when used in a basic (non-heated) propogator. have just ordered 100 more.
