Convert semi truck to RV connector
I bought this converter because I needed to pull my gooseneck trailer(7 pin RV style flat pin plug) with a semi tractor(standard 7 pin round semi plug). A semi tractor uses a separate circuit to operate the brake lights and the turn signals unlike trailers like RVs that are wired to be pulled by an automobile that combine them onto one circuit.Without this converter the brake lights and turn signals would do all kinds of crazy things. This takes the two isolated circuits and combines them for the trailer without affecting the semi tractor lights. I built an adapter harness to go between the semi tractor plug and the trailer plug with the Curt 56190 3 to 2 wire converter in the adapter harness. It worked very well. (obviously there is more to my adapter than just light conversion, but this is what I used for that portion)Note that this is a powered converter! There are non-powered converters available as well. I used this powered converter because of the number of lights on my trailer. It probably wasn't necessary but I wanted to be sure I had enough power to operate them all brightly. So this adapter requires a functional 12v input to power it. Without the power input(always powered when in use) it will not function at all (no lights at all).If you are wanting to pull your RV or trailer with a semi tractor, and need to adapt the lights this will work nicely for your adapter.

No instructions For a 2 wire vehicle where the break & turn signals share the same wire.
Cons instructions suck for a 2 wire vehicle where the turn signal & break light signal are on the same wire. Solution= Simply don't use the break light/stop light wire on this kit, just cap it off with a electrical crimp connector & hook up the left and right turn signal wires to each side of vehicle and the park light wire.Pros once you understand the wiring it works great.

Self explanatory
All the wires are labeled on the device itself. It’s self explanatory. If you can’t figure it out from the picture before you buy it, don’t. The instructions suck balls

Works well but check parts
Worked well but didncome with wire taps. Also, instructions are lacking, but there are good videos online.

Good product, wrong wire connectors for my car.
The unit itself works fine. The connectors are not good on newer cars with rear led lights because the wire is so thin the connectors don't make good contact. I used some old phone wire beans I had laying around, which have a gel in them to protect the connection. Overall I would buy it again. You will also need to buy a roll of wire (18 ga) and an 'add a fuse' to complete the job.

Works perfect on e320 2005 CDI Mercedes but...
worked great but was missing the wire splicers and the fuse holder. Had to run to Lowes twice. After that it was perfect. You must watch the online video to figure out what wire go where. With extreme caution took 2 hrs to install plus lowes trips were extra.

High Capacity, powered, circuit protected taillight converter
I wish Amazon/Curt would do a better job of describing these things. A chart would be nice. A photo of the front of the packaging (with the useful information) wouldn't hurt either.The heavy duty part means 7.5A each Left / Right Signal circuit. And 7.5A for the separate tails. I don't know how that is supposed to work out using a 10A max fuse.It is "powered" so hopefully won't draw much off of the existing vehicle lighting circuits.Is circuit protected (not mentioned in the description)

Great box but blade fuse connection was faulty😁
The flipping fuse connector was faulty straight from the box (hence the 4 star)but everything else worked great. I recommend using the posi-tap connectors instead of the t-tabs. The posi-tap connectors are Way easier to use and an extremely great and secure connection.

J'ai reçu cet article en temps par contre l'étiquette est appliquée à l'envers pour identifier les fils, , du coté de 6 fils, il y a la description de seulement 4 et vis versa pour l'autre coté 9 (voir la photo), j'ai réussi à l'installer à l'aide du schéma fourni dans la boite avec la pièce; il serait bon d'aviser le contrôle de la qualité du fabricant. Merci
