Beautiful book
First, let me say that I have been mainly a Harley and Indian motorcycle guy (I currently own a 2021 Heritage 107), but I’ve always had a special place in my heart for motor scooters, including Maxi-scooters. My first motorized two-wheeler was a used Lambretta 150 back in 1960/62. It was my main means of getting to high school, and I loved the feeling of freedom it gave me. Recently, I’ve been contemplating purchasing a Vespa 300—do I really need a 107 cubic-inch, 800-pound motorcycle? These days, Vespa is part of the Piaggio Group, which also includes Aprilia, Piaggio, Moto Guzzi, and a few brands we are unlikely to see in North America. Vespa has always been the archetypal scooter in every way. The classic design has changed very little over the decades, although it has advanced lightyears in technology, albeit without losing the Vespa “feeling.”The authors clearly have a deep appreciation and love for the Vespa—even passion, as the title indicates. They capture the evolution of this legendary icon, as well as the scooter culture that surrounds it in Italy (and in much of Europe), where the Vespa is both ubiquitous and synonymous with Italian culture. All of this constitutes the spirit that this book captures through beautiful images and well-written history through the years. Moreover, the translators have done an excellent job of rendering the text into English. There are lots of technical information, but it's always the Vespa as a work of art that comes through. If you love industrial and vehicle design as I do (Raymond Loewy has been a hero for me since I was in my 20s), you will appreciate the images here and the aesthetic history they and the text portray. There are other books on Vespas, but this is the best one I’ve seen.

A Treat for Fans and Enthusiasts!
This is a very cute coffee-table book. It is rich in visuals as well as informative text. The photos are beyond compare ... they are crisp and showcase each vehicle beautifully. In this instance, both the artist and the writers show tremendous skill. As someone who analyzes media for a living, I really appreciated the focus on advertisements (especially international advertisements). Very exciting.I love the cool schematics, the small focus on film, and the fascinating black and white photos. All enrich the reader's overall experience and understanding. While I think this book is a blast to flip through, a true enthusiast can read this cover-to-cover and simply get lost in the beauty. There is nothing here that needs improving ... or could even be improved. It is perfect.A delightful read! Very highly recommended!

Beautiful, full color, well rounded book, perfect for the coffee table!
It offers a great historical and design perspective to this iconic scooter. Loved sitting down on the couch and looking through it's pages, learning it's story and all the design vogues that it triggered.
