This is one of the best options for covering gray hairs on your beard. Is it perfect? Not quite, but it gets the job done and lasts for a day or more. Typically, one or two applications are enough—anything beyond that can make it too dark and unnatural. While it’s not entirely waterproof, it’s worth noting that it might smear if you touch it or come into contact with someone. Once dry, you still need to handle it carefully. If you have dry skin or flaking, scratching can cause the flakes to come loose, making them more noticeable and potentially falling my onto your shirt especially a light color one. For a longer-lasting finish, consider borrowing your wife’s makeup setting spray lol it’s an idea my wife shared with me, and it works great! Be cautious with pillows, though; you’ll definitely want to wash it off in the shower before bed. All in all, it’s a solid product.

This stuff is great. I'm an Abraham Lincoln presenter, and when I started, I used "Just for Men" hair dye on my beard. One of the other presenters that I met told me about BlackBeard and it has been a game changer. I don't have the worry and stress of dying it, getting it washed out correctly, taking a shower right afterwards, etc. This stuff goes on without much hassle and comes out easily. It stays in for several hours. It's a great project. At my last show, a teenager who was helping with the crew asked me how I'd changed my beard color so fast!

I have a mostly white goatee, and I find this works the best when I quickly/gently swab the whole thing not worrying too much about what it looks like and instead about distribution. Then I let it dry for a minute or two, and finally wash it with a gentle face soap for several seconds. This results in a more natural "touch of gray" look which is appropriate for my age.

I like the ease of use of this product, and it does seem to last a long time. But I went with medium brown thinking dark would be too dark (other colorings have seemed dark for me), and this is a strange color. It's reddish and lighter than brown, almost a dirty blonde.I should have gone with the dark brown, because this color is not a fit for me.

I rarely write reviews, but this product is so horrible. I don’t understand how anyone could give this a decent rating. Regular beard dye is far superior to this. As I understand this product, the point is to color your beard without dying your skin. But the applicator gets coloring on your skin no matter how careful I am. It looks worse than any traditional beard dye I have tried. This is an honest review: this product is horrible and a waste of money. At least with traditional beard dye you can wash you skin and the color remains on the beard. This is basically like taking a marker to your face. I have tried to get it right 4 times and even had my friend who is a professional hair stylist try to apply it. This is an absolute joke of a product. It’s like clown make-up. If you’re going to try to do something like this, maybe it would be better to use actual mascara from a decent make up line and apply that to your beard. For me, I am going back to regular, permanent beard dye since that can at least be washed off the skin. Don’t give these people your money. This product is thick, inky, and looks horrible on my short beard.

I have tried most temporary dyes like this and this is by far the best. It is completely water resistant. It does not rub off on anything. You can even wash it with water and a small amount of soap after it dries and it will lighten slightly and look more natural. You can keep doing this until you get the shade you want. I use the black and keep washing until I get that "touch of grey" look (my beard is naturally snow white). As long as you don't wash your beard this will last through a few showers. It does for me anyway. I love this stuff!

It works but it isn't anything other than dark colored glue.
