TETRATEC APS50 AIR PUMP 50L/HR

I had the Interpet version before this and it failed after about 18 months (a piece of plastic used to retain part of the internal oscillating mechanism just broke off) which I suppose if kind of acceptable, except that the unit became hot as a consequence which did concern me although I can't say it was a fire hazard. Therefore I tried out the Tetratec which seems fine to date but is a noisier machine than the Interpet.

Very good, nice and heavy to reduce vibration, but still not as quiet as I expected, hence 4 stars not 5. Does require moving occasionally. We have now repositioned the tank so we hear it a little less. This is comparing it to the one that comes with the Aqua 40 Aquarium (my original). Hope this helps.

While this pump is not silent, as long as the air outlet pipe doesn't vibrate against anything, the pump is not too noisy. Has little rubber feet that stop too much transmission of noise. It is inclined to "walk" which I've cured by sticking it down with a little piece of blu-tack. Comes with a simple air flow regulator. Overall I'm happy with this pump.

I have this pump running to two tanks just for a bit of interest of bubbles to each one. It's extremely silent and the design of it not only looks funky, but actually works in keeping it quiet and stationary. I have had it running for a month now with no problems. I would highly recommend this as its fantastic value for money.

After reading all the blurb about this particular pump I was a little taken aback by how noisy it is. I returned it thinking it was faulty but alas the replacement was no quieter. I've kinda got use to it now and it doesn't seem so bad. After reading many reviews on the net I think I was expecting too much.

I have two different air pumps and this one is brilliant. I love the valve which can reduce the flow of bubbles. All air pumps are noisy but I have this one on the floor and I don't notice it when I sleep. My other I have to place on a household sponge to reduce the noise.

Arrived as fast as possible allowing for bank holidays. Well packed and easy to understand and put together and within minutes working fantastically in my tank. It is also much quieter than my previous pump no vibration.
