This "American Mantle" Brand states that these mantles are: "Same as Coleman Style 51 Rosette Mantles". This deceives people into thinking the same style would actually fit the same as Coleman 51's, when in fact, the size is WAY OFF...at least double the size of Coleman 51 mantles. I spent almost $60 on these mantles thinking I would stock up. When I received the order, it is not possible to see the mantles through the package as they cover it with paper so the mantles are hidden. So, I opened a package, and immediately knew these were oversized. I put them on my Century lantern anyway, and the mantles are so huge, they overlap on themselves like deflated balloons, and both mantles touch the glass globe. When I turned the lantern with the mantles upside down to try burning them that way, the balloon mantles would touch the top cover of the lantern. In other words, no way this is going to work. Instead of returning this product, I am reporting this company to Amazon, and if "American Mantle brand" (these mantles are made in India), does not post my review, I will make a complaint with Amazon also. I will also mention this experience in my other reviews, (which are many). A company that sells a brand under the name "American Mantle", surely must know whether or not their mantle is the same as Coleman 51's. Yes, it's now my mission to do what I can to force these companies to do honest business, especially now during the holiday season, and the extreme high cost of living. Our time and hard-earned money are way too valuable.
