OSAGE RIVER Taber Sling Bag, Foldable Crossbody

When I found this bag I was in-search of a light and simple yet durable, single paddle Pickleball sling bag; something that was easily packable with a few extra pockets for stowing keys, phone, sunscreen, etc., maybe even a small towel, water bottle and a ball or two. I know that’s asking a lot for such a small, compact little bag but this looked very close to my exact search. After thoughtful consideration I purchased the bag with high hopes . . . And upon receipt of the bag here are my thoughts on the purchase:I have to say this is very much what I was looking for. Up front I have to tell you this is not a full length bag that allows me to stow the entire paddle inside the bag; I call this my Osage River “shorty” or short bag that allows me to stow just the head of the paddles, yes I can fit two paddle heads inside my Osage River “shorty” with covers on! The handle of the paddle(s) sticks out at the top of the bag and therefore the zipper cannot be fully closed when paddles are loaded in the bag (as seen in the picture of my “shorty”). I can live with this minor detail because my “shorty” offers so much more and I play in a fair-weather, mostly sunny location anyway, protecting the entire paddle for me is not necessary. Now, you obviously cannot see by evidence of the picture of my “shorty” but there are 2 pickle balls up-inside the “cone” portion at the top of this teardrop sling bag, plus a medium sized microfiber towel folded-flat inside and behind the paddle head(s). The inside zippered pocket can hold a wallet, keys and a small tube of sunscreen or a snack. The shoulder strap pouch or the small outside zippered pouch can hold a small snack, like a power bar. The outside side pouch is big enough to stow a 16.9 oz. bottle of water (as seen in the picture of my “shorty”). There is also a stabilizing cross strap that helps keep the bag from swaying while wearing it during a brisk walk or run. The seller’s description does not mention this stabilizing strap detail but it’s a nice added feature of the bag and it can be easily removed if found unnecessary.Final thoughts - There is not much to complain about regarding this bag, it’s a great minimalist’s Pickleball gear bag, everything aside from shoes can be carried and stowed in this bag for a day’s worth of play. I hope this helps those trying to find a bag that works for them, it works for me and I look forward to using my “shorty” for many years to come. Well done OSAGE RIVER!

Feels very cheap and a bit wonky but it’ll work.

Love the features: -phone compartment that expands to hold an iPhone -hidden zipper compartment on the inside for passport or valuables -bottle holder (not huge, but will hold a small bottle) -large outer compartment with inner zip compartment for smaller items (or larger phone) -durable material (although it does arrive very wrinkled).A bargain at twice the price.
