Good value
Well, I'm new to jewellery making and crafting and I was desperate to find away to really buff copper and get scratches out. I bought this pack hoping the rouge would do it. Well, I didn't use a machine, I did it all by hand and after a lot of trial and error and a lot of work, I found a combination of the black stick and the white stick did it. I alternated between the two, cleaning lightly with Brasso in between applications to remove the wax, until I got what I wanted. Once I knew what I was doing I was away and although it was laborious finding out, it is achievable by hand. They're good value and they are what they say they are, I guess I'm just new at all of this. I am now using a Dremel and life is much easier, but, I'm not sorry these are in my kit.

Good product & description of blocks on the rear
As a first time user to this kind of polishing with a Dremal attachment I wasn’t expecting much. The blocks are very hard. But then figured out you need the pad on high speed which heats up the bars & allows an adequate amount to stick to it. Yes it’s messy, but what kind of jobs like this aren’t!But I was very impressed with the results. Tried it on several 1980’s coins before shining up a ring. The coins looked like they came straight from the mint & the ring looked brand new.

Not bad
I don't know what these would like on anything big, but I bought these to polish small objects, and they performed very well, so that is why I gave them 5 stars.

Did the job
Upside: It's in a cardboard box which can be closed to help protect it from drying out. I had the red compound for years in a pot in my Dremel kit and it went rock hard, flaky and unusable (even when heating up or adding oil).Tested the black, white and red (brown is for non-ferrous which I don't need just yet) and all seem to add that bit of smoothing / shine.Downside:1. Instruction card only lists white and red uses. I had to look up what the brown and black were, and write it on the card, as it called them Tripoli and emery.2. It would have been useful if the bars came in a bag or something that air sealed, but no bother, I can find something. In summary:Brown is for shining up copper/aluminium/brass and things with no iron (non magnetic)Black is for removing scratches in hard metals.White is for smoothing out the roughness of the black.Red is for the final shine.NOTE: Wipe previous wax off with a cloth like a microfibre, before cross contaminating compounds. If using a polishing wheel, run it over a rough saw blade to remove previous wax, or change to another wheel.

Helped me cleaning my guitar parts
Think this set is great and versatile. However I discovered that the white compound is a little harsh on plated items so care is advised.
