Meadowmat MEAD-TAM10 Traditional Meadow Wildflower Turf, Multi-Colour, 10 m²

The only snag was the delivery. No proper delivery date which made our order difficult.

In order to leave a review I have to give a rating. It should be 0 but I’ve had to leave a 1. Very expensive Complete rip off! So disappointed only buttercups & daisies which grow already. If you are reading this please do the right thing and give me my money back. £1k it cost to buy from you a man for 2 days to dig & prepare ground for what a few daisies & buttercups. Shocking

Product looks good but, for me, is misdescribed. I order 5m2 which, to me is 5m x 5m - not 5 x 1m x 1m. I had to place a second order for three times the amount of the original order to fill the area I needed it for.Delivery timescale was also misleading. Having been advised it would take 10-12 days, it arrived in 3. Brilliant delivery - unless you haven’t prepared the ground for it! The second delivery was equally as quick - at least the ground was prepared now!The turf on the second delivery was a different colour, and sparser that the first. Hopefully the grass will cover the bare patches.The description also states that the squares supplied are 100cm x 100cm. They were not - both deliveries being 200cm x 50cm. Being half the width probably makes them easier to handle, unroll, and lay though - just don’t plan your area based on strict measurements unless you absolutely need to. The turf is also held together on a plastic mesh but having a garden hand saw made it easy to cut to size.

The turf was delivered in secure wrapping and the grass/flowers/soil were still damp so the turf was very fresh. There are explicit instructions that Meadowmat should be laid no more than 24 hours after delivery, preferably within 8 hours. Therefore it is extremely important that the area to be covered is prepared in advance. It is also important to keep the turf watered. My meadow and wildlife garden this year is spectacular with a great number of wild flowers and bees. As the instructions are so thorough I can only think that if anyone has problems it’s more likely that they didn’t lay or water the turf as instructed. Mine is great!!

Bought this for husband's birthday. Came well packed in two pieces. Took a metre square out of lawn and dropped in, within a couple of days the flowers and grasses were standing up well. Now after 2 weeks we have clover and vetch plus lots of others still in bud which at present I cannot identify. Lots of bees and insects around, hubby delighted. Would just like to say one thing, it would be helpful to include a list of flowers to expect, I am identifying each one by looking in my wild flower book as they come up. We did see the squirrel and crow pulling at the edges, so you need a tight fit if putting in a lawn, and ours was!!

Sadly the first order never turned up, then the supposedly second ordered arrived which was less than expected and I'd paid for and looked dead and dried out and nothing like advertised fir the money. So very disappointed especially as it clearly states its perishable and has to be laid in 8 hours, I think it had been on the pallet for afew days. I had to be returned for a full refund which was very inconvenient, one good thing Amazon did pay for return (big heavy pallet). Its probably a good product but need afar better delivery system.

I had a bit of garden that was overgrown and thought it would be nice to have a tiny wildflower patch for the kids. When it arrived they were so excited - the bag was very much alive - full of earthworms and ladybirds. I put the turf down and it is growing well. We're all very happy with it.

Looks good now it is down, but it did have a few ragged and thin edges but I managed. Will not complain.
