A good movie guidebook for the whole family!
I've been a movie lover since the age of 5 and I want to pass down that love to my future children, when the time comes. This book comes equipped with a wide range of genres including action, comedy, drama, animation, musical, sci-fi, horror, and foreign, plus a range of both contemporary films and heavyweight classics. Many favorites of mine such as Ghostbusters, Star Wars, The Lion King (my favorite Disney movie!), and two Harry Potter ones (I won't reveal which to keep the excitement up) made it into this great book. I like how this book mentions a brief overview of each movie to give people a glimpse into the movie before one views the movie. Even better is that some foreign films from France, Iran, Italy, Japan, China, and New Zealand made it into the book. Some movies in this book are PG-13 rated such as Jurassic Park, Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon; Edward Scissorhands, and Titanic, which contains some iffy content that's best appropriate for older kids, espcially the last one mentioned which contains some nudity. Other than that, this is great for sharing with your kids.

Great gift
This book is fantastic for movie loving kids and families. My husband bought it for our 7vyear old and he is obsessed with checking books of the list. Best part is that some of them he can not see u til he's older so this memory book will carry over into young adulthood.

A must have
This book is a great guide for family movies. Many of my all-time favorites are included in 101 Movies. I look forward to watching them again with my young daughter, plus many of the other movies that I've never seen. It's very helpful that it's divided up by genre... family, action, musicals, etc. The layout and illustrations are well done and colorful. I also like the quality and feel of each page. There is good information about each movie, e.g., director, release date, storyline, etc. I love the "Did You know?" info. You can't go wrong with such a useful tool for bringing families together to sit and enjoy a movie.

Parental Guidance suggested :)
Some of the movie suggestions are definitely for the older end of "before you grow up"! We were planning to watch the movies in book order, as much as possible, but I'm not about to let my 7 & 11 year olds watch Titanic! (Although its one of my all time favs... I don't think its for kids... AT ALL!)!With all that said, it's a great idea! And so far, we're having fun with it as a family!

A fun idea for a book
I bought this for my 8-year-old son for Christmas (we'd seen it at a book fair). He was so excited to get it! He likes rating the movies he's seen already. It's also a great reference for what movie we should watch next! My son loves to read, but I imagine this could be a great book to get for a child who is more into movies than reading--a sneaky way to get them reading more.

This book is awesome..
This book is awesome...every kid that has seen it wants one. I bought this for my daughter's 11th movie themed birthday and I worried it would be too young for her and really it could be for any ages 8-18. The summaries are fantastic!

Good book, but arrived in poor condition
This is one of my son’s favorite books which he borrows from the library regularly. I decided to buy him his own copy, but the copy arrived with a sticker which says “Used - G” which I think means good condition? However, the spine is beaten up and several of the pages at the end of the book are ripped. Not good condition at all. Disappointed, as this was intended as a gift.

Great list of films and info
Fun book for kids and adults! My 8 yr old grandson and I starting watching the suggested films last summer. Some we will definitely wait on (Chariots of Fire, 16 Candles) but others are perfect and I wouldn't have thought of them (The Secret Garden). Now I have ordered a second copy of the book for my other grandchildren.
