Cuts with ease
With my art I do a lot of cutting. I cut anything from thin rice paper to yupo to 140lb cold press Arches watercolor paper. Some of the things I cut are very intricate with tight spaces. I was so tired of the blade in my exacto knife dulling so quickly. So I gave the Fiskars Heavy-duty 18mm utility knife a try. Despite being large and heavy I can cut delicate shapes with ease no matter how thick the paper is. When I ran out of blades I purchased these. I love them. They stay sharp even better than the blades that originally came with my utility knife. I didn't think the knife could cut any better until I replaced with these blades, but I was pleasantly surprised to find it could. From now on I'll only purchase these blades going forward. Attached is a photo of a scribble my 2 year old drew that I cut out to use as a mask for my monotypes. There were so many tight spaces, and I was cutting this from Yupo which is made from polypropylene. It cut without issues. I also love that these blades are used with a retractable knife. So when I'm not using it I simply slide the lever down and the blade is safely tucked away.

Does NOT come with the black and orange blade case that's in the photos!!
Lucky for me though, I asked that question before I ordered these and actually got a response from the manufacturer saying that they do NOT come with the black and orange blade case that's shown in the pictures. If you are reading this review and it's not shown now though? I promise it was at the time of this review. Anyway, I still took a star off for it, as it is totally misleading. And it's a shame too because you're probably not going to find a much better long blades than these. I myself don't really like the Fiskars actual long blade box cutter utility knife though. I've used long blade box cutter utility knifes for more than a decade now for cutting fiberglass insulation pieces, and I've always found those kinds of knives to fail really quickly. But really, in all of that time of using long blade box cutter utility knives, lol, I've also found that there isn't really a long blade box cutter utility knife that exists that isn't going to fail quickly. So the best thing to do is to just get the cheapest and most simple long blade box cutter utility knives. Just search out here for: REXBETI 18mm Utility Knife. You should find a 12 pack of the kind of 18mm long blade box cutter utility knives that I'm talking about. Depending on how much time has passed since I have typed up this review though, those might not exist anymore. So in that case just search for "18mm utility knife" and look for a bunch of them that are sold together for a relatively cheap price and you should find what I'm talking about. However, these kinds of cheap knives will actually outlast the blades that come with them as well as many more replacement blades. And THAT'S where these Fiskars blades come in. They will obviously last much longer than cheap blades BUT, they can greatly extend the life of cheap long blade box cutter utility knives like the ones that I was referring to earlier in the review. And if you are someone who has to use those kinds of knives and blades all of the time, that equals saving money. And one last thing. For anyone who is wondering, the answer is 7. That is, I've typed out "long blade box cutter utility knife/knives" 7 times, lol. Well, technically that would be 8 times now.

Did not come with pictured orange and black case
The blades are great but $13 for a 5 pack of blades. If it had the case I would have been willing to pay. Fiskar is great but this seller is sketch.

Sharp!
These blades are very sharp. They cut through cardboard boxes effortlessly like butter! Easy to use. Reasonable price. I was hoping I would get a little plastic case to store them but only received the blades.
