Fantastic resource! Highly recommend.
What a great resource! Like most artists, my studio is full of Earth and human/pet unfriendly art supplies and I have tried searching for information and eco-art supplies in the past but have always been overwhelmed. Scott has done all of the research and broken down the info in laymen terms (and has also provided extended, scientific reading) and recommends products by categories, such as paint, canvas, brushes, etc.Without this book, I would no doubt have been searching in vain for years to come. This book has saved me countless time and money. It's also worth noting that the products recommended are not crafty or homemade recipes, these are high-quality art supplies for serious artists, which I didn't think was totally possible, but Scott has been doing it for 10 years.

Awareness is the first step
Easy. Accessible. Low/no judgement. Good, value add information.I really appreciate the author's sharing of his learnings on safe and safer materials in his art world. This book is another arrow in my quiver for my art journey to be a net "add value" versus having a negative impact on the planet. It's all about choices and more knowledge about our materials and methods is empowering. His writing and tone is not judgmental which I appreciate.

Excellent artist reference
I am so happy to find this great reference for environmentally friendly art supplies. I had no idea the hazards of some materials and will move forward armed with information that will protect my health and the environment.

Super helpful thank you
This book is an excellent roadmap towards becoming and eco-friendly artist. At times, it was shocking to see how little choice there is available to me based in UK. But, I feel better informed to ask my local art suppliers to consider stocking more eco-friendly products...even just planting seeds in their minds that there is a demand for them...thank you

Acrylics environmentally unfreindly, Oil Pastels?
Very interesting, I have been an acrylic artist for over 30 years, now I have learned from this book that they are not environmentally freindly, apart from one brand not available in UK, so I have changed to Royal Talens Watermixable Oils, so its a new slow learning curve although they make a quick drying medium, still slow, but helps. There is no mention in the book at all about Oil Pastels which I use for outdoor sketching, I use Senellier which are the best, I would like to have learned about them, but I guess ignorance is bliss.

Shopping list for Australian art supplies
Bought this expecting info on where to find naturally sourced materials, eg foraging and what to look for or even possibly some idea how to make your own, but instead this is a list of shops/brands where to buy ready made materials, mostly in Australia with no mention if they use eco packaging materials. Being in the UK it wouldn't be very eco friendly of me to have supplies travelling 1000s of miles wrapped in bubble wrap! I ordered the print copy hoping to keep it as a reference book but I imagine the info would date very quickly as shops close or new materials are made and I'm disappointed there is no mention of it even being printed on recycled paper or using soy based inks. Missed an opportunity there.Unfortunately not what I was looking for, I've asked to return for a refund and if I need this info I will stick to online searches for local suppliers.
