These phones can be complicated and overwhelming for seniors. It is best to just stick to the basics. Additionally, on this model the speed dial buttons are very small so very hard for those that are visually impaired to see. The phone and service from the seller so far have been great.

DO NOT BUY THIS GARBAGE IF YOU INTEND ON OUTFITTING IT WITH AN EXTENSION. A software bug that's unable to be fixed by the consumer renders this Base unit unusable when paired with the recommended CL-60AP Satellite phone. The bug switches the Base unit back to "pulse" dialing (the satellite receiver, also) and then one cannot make outgoing calls-the dial tone will time out before the phone can finish registering the pulse dial digits. You can go back in the menus and port the phone back to "Tone", but it only lasts a day or so before it jumps back to "pulse". A high priced base and a high priced satellite that becomes useless. Serene Innovation's horrible customer service does nothing to help.

Purchased this for my 87 y/o MIL. It's easy for her to use and I was able to program the numbers for myself and her 2 sons so she doesn't have to remember phone numbers. The answering machine feature is easy for her to see and use.

Bought this phone for my father who was having trouble hearing and understanding what was said on his phone. He can now not only clearly hear but understand what someone is saying when having a phone conversation.

Computer voice on announcements is not clear. Ex: Never AM or PM just MMMM, Year and date not clear.

Ordered this phone for my elderly mother who uses hearing aids. She is very pleased with the telephone and has no trouble using it and the voice mail retrieval is simple. The numbers are nice & large & easy for her to see. Once we got the tone and volume settings set for her needs, the telephone suited her needs quite well. It is not for those who do not have hearing issues.

I bought this phone as a Christmas gift for my father hoping that the larger buttons and amplified sound would help him. unfortunately, a major issue was that pressing on the * button for more than a few seconds turns the phone from pulse to tone and vice versa. I dont know anyone who uses pulse technology anymore and there is no way to disable this function; my dad ends up pressing that button to return the phone to its cradle and making the phone inoperable.Additionally, to make a call you dial the number FIRST, then press the talk button which is the opposite of every cordless phone he's used in the past, again making it too confusing for him. Even his regular caregiver can't figure it out.I bought three of these - the main phone and two additional handsets and it was a waste as the return window has closed while we tried to figure out what was going on. Their support was helpful but ultimately the product did not deliver the ease of use that I had hoped for. Anyone want a phone?
