Will pick up most anything, plus now has two open positions and a closed/lock position. New features make this grabber even better than it was before. I have several of these in the longer size which I use for reaching things in high cabinets (it holds a full bottle of liquid or a delicate crystal glass with equal finesse). I have one for outside use to pick up sticks to save my back or to retrieve something on the ground when I'm on the garden tractor. I have one for reaching cables or dropped objects behind the desk in my office too. However, since sustaining a knee injury, I am using a walker and needed one to carry on it. I bought another, which is okay, for next to my chair, but it can't grasp things as well as this does. This has the suction cup grabbers and design to hold heavy things as well as picking up small things.It also has a couple of new features my others don't. The red tab pictured allows you to lock the grabbers closed so it's easier to transport and you can also use it in a semi-open position if you're trying to pick up something in a confined area where the wider 5" opening between the grabbers is too wide to fit. In the partially open position, it is about 2.5" wide. You can also set the red tab up so that the grabbers will automatically lock around the item being retrieved when you squeeze the handle. Very cool.This also comes with a velcro tab that lets you attach it to something for transport like a wheelchair or walker. The short version has the tab attached near the grabber end where it's higher on the longer version. I rigged mine so it attached closer to the handle as that's how I preferred it.I have used the EZ reachers for many years now and they do in fact last and last. I love them. I've used them a lot and in some rough situations and they continue to work perfectly.

This grabber works better than the first one I ordered. It picks up items and doesn't drop them before you can get it in hand. The only problem is that I should have gotten the longer grabber.

I have been using reachers (or grabbers) for about 20 years, and I had always bought mine from our local medical supply store. A few months ago, the plastic handle on my beloved reachers cracked, and after a generous amount of super glue, they cracked again. When I called our medical supply store, they had the reachers in stock and were willing to deliver them to me for a 60 dollar delivery fee. We live within 5 miles of the store, and we have been regular customers for over 20 years. So much for loyal customer service! Out of curiosity, I checked Amazon.com, and discovered the same reachers for a lot less money, including the delivery fee, made by SAF-T-LOK. Within 3 days, I had my new reachers, and although they looked like my old pair, these are a more durable product. I was able to lift heavy canned goods from the top pantry shelf without calling my husband. A few weeks later, I ordered another pair for my laundry room, and heavy wet towels are easy to get out of my washer into the dryer. I looked through the company's online catalog and found many new products from Wright Stuff which are now on my "to buy" list. The Wright Stuff medical supply company will now get my hard-earned dollars.

I love the length...can sit in my chair and get objects nearby. The little suction cups make it easy to pick up paper, things I was having trouble with with my old grabber.

I have several of these and the rubber ends constantly coming off.

of course it's guaranteed for life, i'll never use it; won't open wide enough to grasp a 1 liter bottle of soda-never mind a lg can. the suction cups are great too, they catch on the linoleum when i try to pick up papers or small objects off the floor. it's not totally useless so i gave it two stars.

The cups fall off after several uses.

well build i will give a 5 any day
