ARSCorporation 120S-8 Pruning Shears, S-Shaped, 8-Inch

ARS has quickly become my favorite garden tool company. Everything they make is bar none the best for the price. I have 9 different models of ARS pruners 3 of the same ones and have turned 2 other co-workers on to them after being fed up with fiskar. I keep everything well oiled with medicinal grade mineral oil and after a season of abuse they all still cut like new. I love Japanese steel now and will buy nothing but. I even prefer the ARS 130DX to my felco f2s. I also own (and love) the 140DX, SE-45 (x5), 310DX, and 300LDX. The 300LDX and 130DX are always on my person. After last weeks harvest and using the Felco F2 for 6 hours straight and suffering pretty rough fatigue (when I finally got to bed around 10pm and I was laying still I could feel my hand pulsating in pain *note* Im 24, fairly athletic, and have decently strong forearms). The next day I was dreading picking up the Felcos so I let a co-worker use them and I switched to my much lighter hardly used 130DXs and was able to go for the whole day (about 5 hours) with out any further pain. They cut so incredibly well and effortlessly. My Master gardener tried them out and asked me to order her 2 pairs of them for herself. This led me to checking out ARS's other offerings looking to replace my Felcos after 1 season. Now here I am holding a brand new pair of the 120S8s. Again, more top quality from ARS. Leaving all the competition behind. Drop forged razor sharp blade. Solid.However. I have XL hands. Some XL gloves fit me just a bit small. These things are monsters. They open extremely wide even for me. Kind of leaving me wishing I got the 120S7. I wont knock off any stars because they are a perfectly engineered product. But they are MASSIVE. Unless you have XXL+ hands, go with the 120S7 (7"). They are manageable for me but just know that the 8s open veryy wide and I would imagine to be hard to make large cuts for medium hands and most likely impossible for small hands pretty much turning them into a 2 handed pair of pruners :)My Master Gardener has small-medium hands and she uses the 130DX (lightweight 7"). Also don't let the 130DX fool you, what they Seemingly (emphasis on seemingly) lack in size/beefiness, as compared to the 120S7, they make up for with an awesome blade profile that is slim and razor sharp that slices through 1/4-1/2" stems like butter.Picture from left-right : Felco F2, 130DX, 120S8, 300LDX, 140DX, 310DX, and the SE-45 on the bottom.*I do my best to keep them all oiled (if not after daily use, weekly) with medicinal grade mineral oil (I use ballistol) and I expect to see a good 5-10+ years from every single one of them.

These are my favorite clippers so I bought a second pair even though the ones I bought 3 years ago are in perfect condition. I'm a farmer and am constantly using my clippers in my orchard and home garden fruit trees. I've had Felco and Bahco clippers and probably previously considered Bahco my favorite due to ergonomics. These ARS clippers are not quite as ergonomic but cut very cleanly every time. The steel used is exceptional. After 3 years and making thousands of cuts the blades still clean up easily to look brand new. Amazingly, I have not had to resharpen the blades and they seem as sharp as brand new. I bought a second pair recently to keep one in my truck and in case I lost my other pair as I don't want to be without these.I wish these came in a 9" model. A friend has a 9 inch model with a rotating handle. The blades are just as good but I personally don't like a rotating handle as it seems to affect my ability to make precise cuts.

the sharpest pruners i've ever used ! need less force to cut branches than any other pruner i've used.not as ergonomic as felco but not uncomfortable. i will be switching to these when felcos wear down.the blades seem to be much harder and the blades will hold an edge much longer than felco.highly recommended !

These were recommended by a landscaper friend as better than my Felco f-2 pruners, which I've been using for 30 years.So far so good...They seem to hold an edge well after 3 weeks of work. They're lighter than the f-2 but could stand to have one finger 'notch' for a better grip. If I can remember I'll add comments after a full season of work.

These are efficient and stay clean and very sharp.

Best hand primer, heavy duty yet it is light. Price is very good and will recommend, I have Felco 2 and this one is just as good.

These pruners are bar none the best I have ever used, You really can't beat Japanese steel. Why throw your money away with buying Chinese that will just rust and dull within a months time, when you can have a tool that lasts a minimum of two years with aggressive use?

アルスのVシリーズに比べると、切れ味は良いと思います。岡恒の様に切り音が響くのではなく、サクサクと、太枝も抵抗なく切れます。8インチ購入しましたが、自分の手には7インチが良かったかも知れません。ヤニもつきにくく、終わって水で拭うだけでピカピカです。

ヤニが付きにくい、付いても水ですぐに落ちる、その結果切れ味が長く続く刃が微妙に内側に湾曲しているのでかみ合わせが良く切れ味が良いこれは優れものです

２年近く庭木の枝切りに使用しています。特に問題なく使えており、切れ味も落ちた感じはありません。手入れは、使用後は水洗いして、刃物油を塗布している程度です。価格は少し高めですが長く大事に使うのは高くはないと思います。

以前に失くして１０年前に買った同製品の予備に購入しました。自宅の庭の剪定５００坪くらい毎年２回づつ使います。いつも雑な使い方をします。１年に２回くらい自分で研いでいますが、いまだに切れ味は他の剪定鋏と比べ物にならないほど良好です。耐久性と実用性の面では抜群の性能です。あと１０年使えそうです。　発条が弱いといわれますが、今まで交換したことがないのでそんなに悪くないと思います。中途半端なものを買い替えるより長く安心して使えるのがよいと痛感しています。

公園のｱｼﾞｻｲの剪定・手入れに使用しています。以前は刈込鋏を使っていましたが、剪定鋏の方が効率的に出来ると感じました。当会社の最高級品だけあって、根元のかなり太い枝も問題なく切れます。ゴミ袋に入れやすくするため、枝を途中で同じ長さに切りそろえるのも楽に出来ます。全体として、作業がはかどっていると思います。
