Another good value from Schrade. (But not one of their heavy-duty models.)
Schrade makes some good knives these days and this one is no exception...it's a nice knife, especially considering the price. It isn't as robust as the other Schrades I have, the "survival" and "frontier" models. 5/32 of an inch in thickness vs. 7/32. And lighter in weight, of course (which isn't a bad thing). Fit and finish is good. The handle is comfortable, but might seem smallish for someone with big hands. Nice grippy texture. Not sharp as received, but I have no doubt that that will be easily remedied--I have other Schrades which use the 8cr13mov steel and you can put a good sharp edge on 'em. The little tool with its spring-loaded retaining pin is quite clever in design and storage but I have found that I like the knife better without it. Removing it leaves the handle with some hollow spaces but that shouldn't be a problem--the handle material appears to be strong and durable. And without the tool in place, the tang has a nice strong-looking pommel with a lanyard hole. I have seen remarks that indicate the tang can slide around a little within the handle--I can't speak with experience whether that is or is not possible, but inspecting the handle and seeing how it is molded around the tang, I don't see how it could go anywhere in any direction. The shape of the tang would appear to prevent any movement of the handle, or so it seems to me. The sheath secures the knife reasonably well and gripping the handle while pushing against the sheath with the thumb causes it to spring free with ease. The sheath won't win any prizes, but I like it better than the nylon sheaths that most other Schrade knives come with. And it is well constructed. Personally, I would prefer that those fake saw "teeth" (or whatever they might be called) were not a part of the design, but I can live with 'em, I guess. I would classify this model in the medium-duty category, with the capability of performing some heavier work if needed. I wouldn't want it to be my primary tool. It would be a fine back up knife, or one that is stored in a vehicle and/or in an emergency bag. Schrade makes some excellent knives that are more heavy-duty and cost just a few dollars more.

Nothing of noteworthiness
This is a well-made knife that comes across as being durable but under heavy use, there is the issue. You would like to believe it is well made and is solid enough to pass every-day use. The blade/handle, however, is debatable. The blade, or at least this one, wasn't as sharp as other Schrade knives, but I was able to put a decent edge. Good? Not. After a day's use it was dull enough to resharpen. Given rise to how this was heat treated (hardened). The overall length renders this an alright camping knife and may have some use for some camping needs. Other than that, it would be a desperate time to take this to the field. Nice knife to have in one's inventory and have available when a knife needs to be used. The sheath is up for debate as well. On the belt, it seems weak. I cannot comment on attaching it to a pack, but that, too, looks questionable. Overall? Nice to have and nice to keep handy. It can serve as a good camp knife with proper treatment and proper use. Heavy work? It may work well for some.

A Decent Quality Good Value Knife
It's a good knife, and worth the money. The grinds are even, and the blade came sharp enough to do basic cutting tasks, but would not shave hair. It's a beautiful blade, and the handle scales are flush with the back of the knife. The sheath is basic plastic, but it works OK. I find that I have to give the knife a solid push to have it lock properly into the sheath to hear the old satisfying "click". The ergonomics are OK, but I would make a few suggestions to Schrade on how to improve this knife. The front finger guard and top thumb ramp are not comfortable for me to grip. My initial though was to grind them off, as well as create a more usable finger choil, but then I realized that these two protrusions are what "clicks" into the plastic sheath. If I do end up modifying this knife, then I'll probably just make a Kydex sheath for it, and throw the original plastic one away. Also, the belt clip should be wider so that the knife is not forced to point away from the wearer's leg at a goofy angle. The sheath works, but it could work a lot better by simply widening the belt clip a few millimeters. That being said, this is still a good knife deal, The AUS10 steel has a good heat treatment, but the tip is thin, so I wouldn't recommend "tip testing" it like some of the Youtube knife guys who seem to enjoy snapping the tips off of their blades.

Love it
The Schrade Delta Class Extreme Survival Fixed Blade is a robust and versatile tool designed for serious outdoor enthusiasts. With an overall length of 10.75 inches and a 6-inch AUS-10 steel blade, this knife offers a solid balance between size and maneuverability, making it ideal for both camping and bushcraft tasks. The AUS-10 steel provides a good combination of edge retention, corrosion resistance, and toughness, ensuring it can withstand tough cutting, chopping, and prying duties without dulling quickly. One of the standout features is the non-slip grip, which provides excellent control even in wet or cold conditions. The ergonomic handle is designed to reduce hand fatigue, making it comfortable for extended use. The full tang construction adds strength and durability, ensuring the knife holds up under heavy pressure. The blade’s shape is well-suited for a range of tasks, from batoning wood to preparing food, though its thick spine may make it less suitable for intricate detail work. The sheath is functional, offering secure retention and easy carrying options, but some may prefer additional features like a belt loop or MOLLE compatibility. Overall, the Schrade Delta Class Extreme Survival Fixed Blade is a solid choice for those seeking a reliable survival knife that can handle a variety of outdoor challenges. It’s built to last, offering both performance and durability, but might not be the best fit for those seeking a more refined blade for fine tasks.

Great knife
This blade is pretty nice, I honestly have had great luck with schrade. Would they be my pick to survive the odds? Probably not but it’s nice having a sub $30 knife that can get beat on and not worry about it breaking if you manage to do that. I have mixed feelings about the finish on this on, it’s nice overall and very smooth but it just looks too toyish sort of. In the picture it looks like a satin grey but in person it’s more like automotive moon rock grey. It’s not bad but it just took me by surprise when I opened the box. The good is that the knife is very nice and razor sharp from factory, you can shave with this thing. Really, it easily cut down my arm hair without hesitation, pretty impressive for a large factory knife. The sheath is pretty good but the retention is a little tight. This knife is not going anywhere while sheathed, you have to give it a good tug. I don’t really care much for the tool in the handle, I can give my appreciation to schrade for trying to be innovative and outside of the box and hey you might be in a bind one day and use the oddly specific tools. The skinner can also be used to safely cut seatbelts in an emergency so that’s a hidden plus. Mine doesn’t make noise unless it’s the little key ring but that’s minimal. If you are some sort of clandestine operator (I doubt you’d be using schrade at that point) then I guess the noise can get annoying but it’s really hardly noticeable. My overall impression of the knife is very pleasant, I would easily recommend this knife to friends and family as well as other schrade products. They bring a great bargain to the table, I’m pretty sure they have a lifetime warranty too so that’s excellent.

Blade steel and price is great, the rest needs some work.
This is my first time reviewing something on Amazon but since this is an item I use a lot, I figured it would be worth talking about what it does well, and what it doesn't do so well. I do not use this as a survival knife, I'm a vehicle dismantler so this knife (and my other knives) get a lot of heavy use cutting belts/hoses/wiring harnesses/etc. Blade - The blade steel is much better than the 440 stainless blade on the S&W fixed blade I was using before this one. I used to have to sharpen my S&W about 2-3 times a day (huge HUGE shout out to the Work Sharp belt drive tool sharpener, that thing is absolutely incredible at giving a sharp edge in a few seconds), but with this one I only have to sharpen it once a day. In a lot of cases it feels like it could go longer than that, but I sharpen it in the morning just to be sure. It sharpens to a very good edge, and holds the edge much better than other knives I've used. 5/5 Blade features - The notches on the top of the knife are purely aesthetic, they look cool but I don't really care. I would have liked to see them sharpened so it can be used as a saw in a pinch, but for my application it doesn't really matter. The finger hole thing (I can't remember the technical term for it) is well positioned and comfortable for close up work. The flat spot on the top is apparently good for survival type applications, I haven't used it for that but it seems to be good. The drawbacks are as follows: The blade guard is only on the bottom, I would have liked to see it on the top too like my S&W had, but I knew that before purchasing it and it hasn't been much of an annoyance. The big problem I have is the end with the multi-tool comes to a point, which I assume is good for some things, but not good for using as a hammer in a pinch like I was able to do with the flat end of my S&W. I don't really have a rating for this section since it's all personal preference, and all of these things I knew before I received the knife. Handle - The handle is comfortable to hold, the material is great and doesn't get slippery when wet, even when it's covered in oil it isn't difficult to hold and doesn't try to slip out of my hand. Construction is marginal, even though this is a full tang knife, the blade has begun to slide inside the handle. I've had it for about 2 weeks and it already slides about 1/4" inside the handle. I don't know much about handle construction, but I have to imagine there could have been a few pins put through the handle/blade to hold it securely. 3/5 Multitool - The tool in the handle seemed like a gimmick when I first ordered the knife, so I didn't expect much from it. The tool itself isn't bad, the blade screwdriver is a bit awkward to use because it's angled, and it's difficult to get much torque on the hex socket built into it (I was able to use it to remove a battery terminal, and it seemed to work ok). That being said, the retainer has already broken, the tool slipped out of the handle and I lost it. After that I looked at the retainer pin, it was completely gone so I had to remove the retainer and toss it in the garbage. If you're buying this knife for the multi-tool, look elsewhere, it's junk. 1/5. Sheath - The sheath that comes with this knife is really nice. It seems like it's going to hold up a lot longer than the nylon sheath from my S&W (that one ripped so much that it was unusable, which is what got me hunting for a new knife in the first place). It does stay in place locked once you press the knife into it, and I've never had an issue with it falling out. The part of it that is both a plus and a minus is how rigid it is. It will definitely stay locked right to your side when hanging off a reasonably thick belt, which means you don't need to tie a rope to your inner thigh to keep it from swinging all over the place. However, that also can be a drawback, as it tends to dig into my side a bit, and can be difficult to position when sitting. I normally just take the knife out of the sheath when I sit down to do computer work, since it's nearly impossible to get it comfortable otherwise. 4/5 One more thing worth noting is the balance of this blade. I'm used to a knife that balances right where the handle ends and the blade begins, but this knife is blade heavy at that point. It seems like a bit more weight in the end of the handle would have balanced this knife perfectly, but it has taken some definite getting used to, since it doesn't balance as well as my S&W did. Overall, if you're looking for a no-nonsense knife that will hold an edge and cut things, this is a very good knife, especially for the price. My advice when you get it, just remove the multi-tool and the retainer, since they'll break anyways, and removing them gets rid of that annoying rattling sound when walking/using the knife. The biggest drawback to me is the blade sliding on the handle, and that's the only thing that might keep me from buying this knife again. For the price though, I don't know if I'm expecting too much.

Cool looking knife, but I only give it 75%
This knife looks very snazzy. I really wanted to love it. But falls somewhat below it's expectation. First off, the humps on the spine do nothing. Videos the knife company used to run show the humps being used to make tinder for fire starting, but that's just advertising hype. The wrench in the handle, great idea, but totally useless. I tried using it on some of outdoor equipment, like my camp stove, canoe, packpack frame. Either the nuts were the wrong size or I couldn't get wrench to move seeing how the cut out are in the middle of the wrench. Just not useful. The wrench does have a hook for cutting line, but it didn't come that sharp. Besides, if I have a knife in my hand, why would I take small wrench thing out of the handle just to cut a rope. I suppose it could be used as a gut hook, but I'll never know, as I'll probably throw the wrench in the junk box. They could have put something much more useful in the handle like a ferro rod, small knife or thermometer/ magnifier lens for less money then this wrench. The sheath is just ok, can not be adjusted for left hand side. The knife its self is fine, I cut some rope and did some whittling, needed some sharpening. After sharpening it was much nicer to use. It cut rope easier and I cut some fir sticks or as I like to call them frizzy sticks. I have not tried to baton anything with it yet, so we shall see. The handle is grippy enough both wet and dry. It has that notch in the blade for choking up for finer work. Handle was comfortable. To tell the truth I have not used this knife enough to make a judgment on its ergonomics. I'm sure I could use this knife to set up camp, whittle tent pegs, cut bacon and rope. But it also looks scary enough to chase away any boogie man :-)

Nice Knife, Good Value
This is a very interesting knife. The design and finish of the blade gives it a unique appearance. The size, shape, texture and material of the handle are excellent for my medium size hands. The sheath is hard plastic and is made specifically for this knife. The knife snaps into the sheath as the guard slides inside. It takes a little tug to remove it and a push to secure it. My only complaint about the sheath is the belt loop which is molded into the plastic. It is a closed loop and will accommodate belts up to 1 and 7/8" wide and 1/4" thick. It has 9 grommets around the edges which have 3/16" openings in the center of each plus a slot midway on each side that measure 1/8" x 7/8". The holes and slots will accommodate paracord and straps to fasten it to a pack or MOLLE compatible gear. It 's easy to secure it a pack. There is a small tool hidden inside the handle on the left side of the tang which could be useful. The tool has a screwdriver, a bottle opener, a small gut hook, a cut out that fits a a 5/16" hex nut and a slot with cut outs intended to fit other size nuts snd screws. The knife can be carried with the tool removed, with the tool and the clip removed or with the tool and clip in place. This knife is a good all around tool. The blade it 6.5". Overall it's 11.5". The blade is 4mm thick at the guard. The five slots along the spine are not sharp. It weighs 9.65 oz. out of the sheath and with the tool in place. It did not come particularly sharp but was easy to sharpen with a crock stick. I'm happy with it. It's well made, seems very robust and has a nice feel and balance. It's just about right to serve most outdoor and survival purposes.I've carried it on several desert hikes and found it lightweight and comfortable to use. I would buy it again and recommend it to others.
