ColesClassic Christmas Pudding in Traditional Cotton Bag (1 pound)

Wow! I have a lot to write about this. First of all, if you do not like raisins, you most likely will not enjoy this dessert. The flavor and texture are overwhelmingly raisin, but there are some other nuanced flavors in there. This cake/pudding is extremely rich, don't worry about the small size because it's best to give small servings because it's so rich. I didn't have a hard butter sauce to go with this, so we used melted vanilla custard ice cream as a creme anglais. This arrived in just a few days, the packaging was very nice and looked sophisticated so it's very gift-able, and the instructions were easy! I think this would easily serve six people with small servings, or four people who aren't afraid of a rich dessert.Unlike most processed foods, this did not look or taste like a pre-packaged, processed dessert - it tasted entirely homemade and I do not think dinner guests would be able to tell the difference. The flavor is interesting, I can definitely taste a bit of the ale undertone. As previously mentioned, the dominant flavor is raisin. Anyone familiar with brown bread in cans may find the taste is similar, but definitely with more raisins! I think I detected a bit of citrus, but I didn't check the ingredients to see if citrus was added. The overall cake/pudding is very moist and slightly chewy from all the dried fruit.I will definitely be buying again, and maybe every year at Christmas so we finally pay our respects to our English ancestry with a traditional figgy pudding! The price is so reasonable, it would make a beautiful Christmas gift in a basket with a jar of brandy butter sauce. I'm very happy I decided to try this!UPDATE: I was just reviewing my order and noticed the price for this pudding is now almost double what I paid for it! I will definitely not order this pudding again if it stays at the current price...ridiculous!

Have no idea but it tasted funny. I ve had this several times in London during Xmas. This was off.

I like trying new things and as I have watched Christmas movies and seen different versions I decided to but one. I boiled it for an hour and half. I make my own topping cream sauce. It is like a bran cake with dates, figs and raisin taste and texture. Nor bad, it was reall good with butter warmed and vanilla ice cream. Way better than fruit cake...

Fresh and deliciousI made butter rum sauce to go over it. Soooo yummy. Will buy this one from now on.Came quickly too

My family has a king tradition of Christmas Pudding covered with hot rum sauce. When our local grocer stopped carrying Cross and Blackwell a few year’s back, our tradition was interrupted for several years. Until now! I discovered this product and surprised my mom with it for Christmas this year. It was perfect, the exact flavors we knew years ago. (Rum sauce not included- you have to make that on your own ;) )

This item came open so I will not eat. I tried to get refund but couldn’t so just leaving review to inform others of my experience

Our family tradition around Christmas is hard sauce and plum pudding. Cross and Blackwell stopped making theirs so we're happy to have found this substitute.
