How to (very easily) shape your basket!
Ours arrived squashed flat, but is now perfectly round—as you can see in the pic. And it only took two minutes! These are great quality baskets, truly. Other reviews have complained about them shipping flat, but that's how they're meant to be shipped! It actually protects the basket and reduces wasted space. Unfortunately they don't come with any instructions for properly shaping them, but it's very easy. Don't return your basket just because it's squashed! First, run the basket very briefly under some warm running water. Don't soak it, just get it a very little bit wet all over so there is no danger of the colors running. Try not to get the leather handle wet. Then begin to shape it. It should easily pop out and will take and hold any shape you give it. Remember to make the bottom a little concave so that it doesn't wobble when it's dry. When you have it shaped to your liking, leave it to dry for at least 24 hours. Very simple! These small baskets are super durable and well-crafted, and perfect for easter baskets that are multipurpose the rest of the year. We are going to use ours in the garden for harvesting, you could also use them for collecting real eggs, holding yarn or laundry pins, holding small apples, clementines, and other smallish fruit for eating, etc.

Smashed beyond repair.
Arrives completely smashed as another reviewer mentioned. I do not know why they ship it this way! They make boxes big enough to hold a basket this size. Was hoping the other reviewer’s smashed basket was a one time incident. Boy, was I mistaken! Was very difficult to get it back to “basket shape” and nearly broke as I was trying to adjust it. Was cracking like crazy. It seems like it would have been a good, sturdy basket had it not been misshapen. It won’t sit up right now and just looks wonky and weird. Was going to give it as a gift but I would be embarrassed to show up with that!

Don't send back!! Beautiful
These gorgeous baskets come misshapen, it just takes soaking in warm water for just a few minutes, shapes easily to round or however your want it, then air dry. They are beautiful and so well worth the price. I will use mine for egg collecting, and hope to get every color! Great purchase and highly recommend

Good quality
The actual basket qlty is great its heavy duty twine or straw like basket material the handle is my ultimate fav part so awesome i love the design but the way it ships makes your basket mold into an odd shape. Now my basket looks always slanted. Looks fatter on one side and makes the baskets design look uneven

Beautiful and useful
These baskets are lovely and handmade to boot! I had purchased a couple of tiny ones at a Whole Foods store in NJ and use them for sugars packs and similar. The only problem I have is that I would love some more 3" across and in height baskets, but none are to be found any longer.

They are not difficult to shape properly.
I work at a nonprofit where we sell these fair trade baskets as a fundraiser for our programs. We get them in huge freight bags, and yes, they do arrive smashed. I soak each one for about 10 minutes in warm water and do not have issues with the dye running. I soaked and shaped 16 of these in an hour today, no big deal. We put a 10lb weight in the bottom of each one for about 20 minutes to get the bottom to stay flat. We set them out on cardboard and let them dry for a few hours. I’m hoping to get 200 done in the next few weeks.
