For the first time in nearly 30 years, the haunting soundtrack to David Lynch's masterpiece 'Blue Velvet' is available on vinyl in North America. The first of many collaborations between the director and composer Angelo Badalamenti, 'Blue Velvet's' evocative score is juxtaposed with Lynch's use of early pop tunes, creating an unsettling effect that complemented the movie perfectly. BLUE VELVET WHAT CAN I SAY? THE FILM WAS RELEASED IN THE FALL OF 1986 IF MY MEMORY SERVES ME CORRECTLY. THE SOUNDTRACK IS IN ITSELF A MASTERPIECE. BOTH HAUNTINGLY BEAUTIFUL AND SAD. NOW FIRST OFF THE SONG BLUE VELVET WHICH PLAYS AT THE BEGGING OF THE FILM BY BOBBY VINTON IS NOT INCLUDED ON THIS SOUNDTRACK. HOWEVER THE VERSION SUNG BY ISABELLA ROSSELLNI IS ON THE SOUNDTRACK.( I ACTUALLY BOUGHT THE BOBBY VINTON CD HERE ON AMAZON ALSO SO I COULD HAVE BOTH VERSIONS) MOST OF THE SOUNDTRACK IS INSTRUMENTAL BUT IT DOES INCLUDE THE SONGS IN DREAMS BY ROY ORBISON LOVE LETTERS BY KETTY LESTER MYSTERY'S OF LOVE BY JULIE CRUISE THE SCORE IS BOTH SAD AND HAUNTINGLY BEAUTIFUL. I ACTUALLY LIKE THE VINYL TO THE CD SOUNDTRACK BECAUSE I LOVE TO HERE THE VINYL SOUND AND THE CRACKING SOUND THAT THE VINYL GIVES IT REMINDS ME OF LISTENING TO A FIRE CRACK ON A COLD WINTERS NIGHT. IF YOU ARE GOING TO BUY THIS I SUGGEST BUYING BOTH THE CD AND VINYL BECAUSE THEY BOTH SOUND AMAZING.

Mesmerizing score!
Incredible score. I just watched the film again and was even more mesmerized by the music than by the incredible movie.Angelo Badalamenti is a film composer in the tradition of Bernard Hermann in his scoring of Hitchcock films. Both composers have the uncanny ability to complement and even to create the underlying emotions of the script and director. I too was disappointed by not getting the Bobby Vinton version of the title song, but I came to realize that Isabella Rossellini's version as a dissolute lounge singer (even the off pitch quality) is more appropriate to the character. Lynch and Badalamenti are a great team.

I can't beleive it
Blue Velvet is NOT on the soundtrack, I was shocked especially since it even says it is on the CD cover. However all the other songs are on their and sound great, the prouct arrived just fine and only with a 2 day delivery time.

30 years of being out of print was way too long. Just came in the Mail and is already on the Turntable. Great pressing and the sound quality is also great. I am always happy when My Love for Movies and Vinyl cross paths.Very Happy this is available again. Also Amazon had the lowest price. My advice....Order and enjoy.

Fiquei muito feliz com a edição enviada. Comprei em 2023. Não é 180g, mas o vinyl roda muito bem. Como sempre digo, comprar vinyls na amazon eh arriscado pois eles ESCONDEM a versão vendida, então não dá para saber se chegará uma versão alemã de 180g, ou uma versão do leste europeu empenada. Mas desta vez dei sorte, a edição eh boa.
