Fantasia Nano is better for me because Nano is very bright and floats ...
This torch does not float and not bright in the water. It can not be used as underwater light buoy.Fantasia Nano is better for me because Nano is very bright and floats in the water.I like the products of Princeton Tec but this product did not suit my purpose.

Small, lightweight, reliable
Small, lightweight, reliable. What more need be said? The LED uses very little battery power and provides a good way to find your dive buddy.

Bought 4 - One broke - All bulky and hard to use
First I have tried tons of tank lights, and this is the only one I would buy again, so if you need one, buy this one... now on to why it is still 1 star.I have dove every continent but Antarctica, I have taken this light to three continents in last 6 months. I am a PADI Dive Master working in Salish Sea, so these are a must for my discover local students, so I bought 4 to have for night dives or low visibility dives as spares for students. The Salish Sea is tough on your gear, with low temps, high silt, no showers near dive sites, and more. You would think they would make a decent tank marker light. Out of all the lights except the disposable bad for environment ones, these are the best, which is my concern.Cons:The problem is they are cheaply made, plastic already cracked on the first one after 6 months and 100 dives. No indicator marks for the batteries so you have to play the guessing game when putting them together. They are bulky, with un-needed plastic in the design, the O-rings snag easy with poorly designed grooves, and the super long strap they give you hangs to far from any point on tank or BCD, making it flip around. Their is no secondary fail safe, so if it floods both the light and the battery are gone, they could easily design the light portion to also be waterproof like Kraken does.Pros:Sadly best out there so far. Battery life with two lithium rechargeables (Not included) is amazing, this lasts longer than the disposable ones on a single charge. Not disposable, we don't need to fill our oceans with plastic junk anymore.Divers spend a lot of money on our gear, please make something designed for us, this market is ripe for some innovator to eat it up if this one star product is still the best I tried.

Really too weak, Good construction and quality though!
This is the 5th Princeton Tec item I've bought over 10 years. Really great products and I purchased this one to replace a strobe that I lost(sadly)...I went with the eco flare because lets face it, we are all trying to save money, and the other strobe they offer is 2x more expensive. But this light is almost useless. I walk a doberman every night for 2-3 miles and I camp roughly once every 2 months. I'm not sure where you could find a place for this as the light is really too weak to be seen. The white light doesn't strobe, but makes for a nice constant on, the red light is WAY too weak, you can't see it 10 feet away. I would HIGHLY SUGGEST for the company to make the tip more transparent and reduce its opacity or increase power output. Its so small, the only way I can find a use for this would be for night hikes, perhaps on my backpack as a way to signal to those behind me I'm ahead of them. Would NOT use in an emergency or for dog walking around the streets at night. Even in my yard(1/5 of an acre), you can't see the red light when my pup is near the back fence. Switching the bulbs is difficult, be prepared to have needle nose pliers. Construction and Quality are good though and price is low. Just be sure about what you think you can use this for. I'm very happy its made in USA and I actually went and bought the princeton Tec Merdian for my dog walking purposes. Very happy with it!

Small, light weight and simple to use
The media could not be loaded. It came with the red flashing led and the steady in White led. It’s small but just enough light to let others know where you are

Works well but can be tricky and can flood.
I have had several of these over the years.Provides adequate light for buddy to ID me on night dives. Not finicky like some water activated marker lights. When this is on it IS on. No guess work. However two issues. Firstly, it is tricky to insert the batteries and lamp in their proper alignment as there are no markings. Through trying different combos I eventually find the proper set up and mark the light myself with a fine tip sharpie to avoid future confusion. Secondly, it is easy to overtighten the cone which can crack it allowing the light to flood which will kill it. Gently tighten cone until the light starts to flash. Do not apply excessive force. I would not recommend leaving this light on gear during dives when it is not turned on as this may also allow it to flood

Good light for my use
I got this to put on my dog collar for night time walks and when I let him out in the yard at night by himself. Its water proof and it turns on with a twist. The best selling point is the 500 hour burn time on the Red flashing bulb. It would be nice if it was a bit smaller but considering the price and battery it users Its not that bad because I have a large dog ( he doesn't complain). Only gripe I have was swapping the bulb from white to red flashing. It comes with a little package that has the two bulbs in it. You need to pull the one in the flash light out and push the new one in. Took me a good 15 minutes to get the bulb out and the new one in.

Didn't work.... TWICE!!
Just received it, thought it looked like good quality. Saw it was made in the USA and was even impressed that it had Duracell batteries instead of some no name cheap ones. I put the batteries in ..... and ...... nothing. Swapped out for the red bulb ..... nothing. Tried different AAA batteries ..... nothing. I am returning this faulty one and a new one is supposedly on the way from Amazon. Will update if the 2nd try is better.2nd Try: failure... I received the 2nd unit quickly (Amazon return process is quite easy). However, this unit did not work either. Incredibly disappointed.

Well built and made for water
Well built, waterproof. Ad says krypton bulb, its actually an LED which is better for long life amd lower power.I use as a kayak light

Very useful
I bought this when I was marathon training for those dark winter evening runs... it's small and compact and was light and easy enough to connect to my running belt - it happily flashed it's little red LED during my training....From a scuba perspective (I'm PADI Rescue) - I'd be (not tried but...) less happy, it's too small for a personal strobe - but would be OK for marking things - assuming it's clear water - as I'm not sure how strong the light is....As an additional note - this only flashes "red" and switching to the "solid white" bulb is a bit fiddly....
