Beyond the Myth of Transylvania

I received this little book as a gift, with the giver knowing of my interest in this part of the world. The book is written in such a way, that you feel as though you're part of the author's family. When you're through reading the book, you will have had a special glimpse of Transylvania, coming from a warm and familiar perspective. Beautiful photography is throughout the book, along with family photos. I am with the author, in that the food (and delightful family recipes!) is the gift in what is written here. In the United States, it's becoming increasingly rare to find family recipes "from the Old Country", still intact and being cooked. Mrs. Brown has not only let us in on this wonderful part of her family's history, but she has shared it with us in a tangible way by giving us the opportunity to truly "taste" Transylvania.
