Great product
Very easy to use, and it produces a variety of from levels, thanks to the 2 mixing discs. It’s fairly quiet, too, and very easy to clean. It’s quite heavy and looks great. Build quality is excellent

Great frother
Side stepping the retro stylist look of the smeg range, the question is does this product deliver. In my experience this is a great upgrade of my former Nespresso milk frother. Previous experience of such units has been the milk over flowed the container or the milk never felt hot enough. This product boast an excellent liquid capacity and the standard setting provide a suitable hot product. The two magnetic whisk attachments are easily interchangeable and allow for easy cleaning of the jug.The machine can whip up a mean frothing hot chocolate, I use powder and all I can say is read the instructions….go steady when introducing the power and it’s a doddle…rush and well expect the whisk to stop.On the milk froth functions you have the option of a light or dense froth both are superb.I am loving this product the only downside I am drinking a lot of coffee now 😀Still exploring the device and trying different approaches and whisk combinations but cannot fault the unit

It’s no Velvetiser…
Style over substance said by husband… we bought this as I was struggling with picking up and pouring our handheld Dualit milk frother due to my small hands. We got our Dualit after the rip roaring success of buying a Velvetiser for my Step mum’s birthday - the Velvetiser is made by Dualit and the Dualit was cheaper (albeit less pretty) so we bought it not thinking that my hands would be a problem. I soon realised I needed a handle on the jug so looked around. It came down to the Smeg and the Velvetiser and the Smeg was very pretty and had lots of presets so it seemed a good choice. The reviews were fantastic too. So I knew that Dualit and the Velvetiser delivered the same amazing hot chocolate texture and now it was a test of the Smeg vs the Dualit. I should add that I am high as a kite on hot chocolate as I write after several comparisons on different settings with Knoops 72%. As a scientist I ensured that 225ml of semi skimmed milk and 8 culinary tea spoons of chocolate flakes were added and all instructions were followed. I used the HC whisk with flake guard in the Dualit and the notched whisk in the Smeg.I did a blind comparison test and both my husband and I agreed that……drum roll…… the Smeg HC was too hot and the foam too aerated. The Dualit was silky and dense - heaven, the Smeg was watery with large bubbles in the foam. With regret and disappointment we are now at the stage of choosing to return both the Dualit and the Smeg and buying a Velvetiser (texture and handle both good) or keeping both and only making HC in the Dualit and Chai etc in the Smeg. This is a shameful first world problem we know but our hard earned cash is at stake.Pros: the red Smeg is so pretty! Brightened up the drinks corner of the kitchen beautifully. It’s got lots of settings including cold milk froth which will be useful in summer for frappes and it heats drinks hotter than the Dualit/Velvetiser - good for those who like to leave a drink for a while and it has greater capacity for making 2 drinks at once. Very easy to clean and put the jug in the dishwasher. The Dualit and Velvetiser are hand wash only as the electric part of the unit is integral to the jug.Cons: weak foam… watery hot chocolate and too hot for my liking. Two drinks at once is only good if you like the drinks. It takes over 3’30” per cycle s 2’45” for Dualit. The beep drills your brain… please allow us to turn it off!Recommendations to Smeg: please make a wired whisk instead of the plastic cog wheel one and allow the user to adjust the temperature.Turn the beep off too!Right, off to search Velvetisers

Smeg Red Frother
This by far has been the best thing i have bought.Really easy to clean, very strong blending power & very easy to use.I could not decide between the blue or red, so decided to sleep on it & then came to the conclusion it was the red one i had to get.It sits nicely on the worktop & not too bulky, it looks vintage/retro.I would highly recommend this product to anyone who is thinking of purchasing a Milk Frother, even though it is slightly more expensive but its definitely worth the extra money.I use oat milk in it & it froths it perfectly.

Wife LOVES it.
Got this to replace one I got my wife a couple years back that all of a sudden started not heating up past luke warm. This thing works perfect, gets the hot chocolate scalding hot just how she likes it. What more is there to say? It's powerful, nice to look at and works as described. Just do it.

Excellent Milk Frother
I bought this to replace my Nespresso Aerocino 4 (which is still an excellent device in combination with Nespresso Vertuo system), but this SMEG device is like dialling up to 11. Bigger capacity, easier to clean and also capable of making hot chocolate (a definite plus).
