Great Looking Light Fixture
The light fixture was delivered just before Hurricane Sandy hit the Jersey Shore, which was a good thing. Installation was a bit delayed due to the storm, but was fairly simple. Unfortunately when installing one of the side glass panels it cracked. Not sure if it was a defect in the glass or just uneven pressure from bending the metal holding tabs. Since my original light fixture pretty much fell apart on removal I didn't want to use Amazon's Return service. I contacted the seller Lighting & Locks using Amazon's website and received a response within an hour. I was asked to email a picture of the broken pane in the fixture, and then received a quick response back that they will be sending me a replacement glass panel. Now that's customer service and good to know that the seller stands behind its products!SUGGESTIONS:1) Be very careful bending the small metal tabs that hold the glass panels. As soon as each tab touches the glass STOP! The glass panels also need a little room for expansion from the heat.2) Don't use the two small black acorn shaped nuts to fasten the fixture to the mounting brackets. Instead remove the two small hex nuts on the threaded screws, retighten the screws and then use these nuts to gently snug the fixture onto the mounting bracket. With the acorn nuts the fixture will hang loosely from the ceiling.....throw them away!

nice light
Just installed this today outside our porch, and it looks great. Was packed well and arrived in perfect condition. Arrives assembled except for the glass panels, but to install it, you first unscrew the two main pieces, install the four glass panels into the piece that hangs downward, then hook up the electrical supply to other piece that contacts the wall, and finally reconnect the two main parts you previously separated. This last step is the one where it's great to have a helper to hold the down-hanging piece while you connect it to the wall-installed piece, because they're connected using three screws which have decorative nuts (insert joke here). You need one hand to hold the screw, another to hold the nut, and a third hand to support the down-hanging piece. The screws and decorative nuts are small and easy to drop while you're hooking the parts together, and that's the only complaint I have about this product: the three screw heads and nuts should be more hefty for easier handling. I didn't have a helper so I held the parts together, then passed a twist-tie through each of the three holes, twisting them so the down-hanging piece was supported. Then it was easy to install the three screws, removing each twist-tie as I did so.

Looks very nice. Packaged well. Quick shipping.
I purchased this at amazon after looking in many home improvement stores. We needed a mission or craftsman style light to match our kit home built in the early 1900's, and all the ones we found were mounted on a wall, and not hanging. The location we needed to light was specifically from above, and this was the only place we found a pendant style light. It looks gorgeous, and the only downside is that it really does NOT put out much light. Just a nice soft glow that lets you see where you are going on the front steps, but nothing beyond that. We replaced what now seems to have been a beacon, so we are trying to adapt to the change, but overall I think this might even be better. Attracts less bugs, and isn't obvious or annoying later at night if you need to "leave the light on" for someone.

I like the aesthetics of this light a lot and it ...
I like the aesthetics of this light a lot and it really matches the feel of our exterior. The glass is the right shade and has the right level of translucence for us (good amount of light gets through, no obnoxious light glaring out at you, etc.). Two small quibbles: the mounting screws are pretty cheap and when you try to tighten them then can break (snapped off 2 of the 3 of them) and the glass panels are pretty brittle as well. I chipped a couple of little pieces of glass off two of the edges installing them.Would I purchase this item again based on my experience to date? Youbetcha.

good quality, bit of a pain to assemble
First, if you buy the light, invest 30 seconds to look at the instructions regarding how to assemble.I assembled the first by sliding the glass panes up from the bottom - a pain in the butt that took 15 minutes. The instructions - consulted, as always, as a last-resort - showed that the top should be removed and the glass panes slid down from top. MUCH EASIER.The lights arrived quickly. Both were pretty well packed (thought both packaged had some damage). Lights were intact. Result looks nice.Warning: the "honey" glass is darker (less transparent) than I would have guessed. You may be disappointed by how little light comes through the glass. "Mood lighting, not task lighting!"

Improved Installation Instructions!
I like the light, but the installation instructions leave something to be desired so here are some better ones:1) Remove metal housing from mounting base. (this all-important step is not mentioned in the included instructions)2) Install mounting base on ceiling using bracket(s) provided.3) Screw in light bulbs4) Install bottom glass in metal housing, securing gently with black metal clips5) Install side glass in metal housing as in step 46) Attach metal housing to mounting base with two screws provided.

Best as an outdoor light
Best as an outdoor light.I really like the looks of this. It's the right size, style, and bright enough for the hallway where I put it. I put two LED lamps inside. The downside is the distinct yellow light that comes through the glass. The family photos in the hallway now look quite odd. If this was on a covered porch, and I specifically wanted a great looking light which would minimize the attraction of insects, this is what I would go for.Great light, but I may end up getting some white glass panes to replace the factory ones.

Base should be thicker
The base that attaches to the wall should be thicker, no matter what I did, I could not get it to be flush against the wall so it sits away from the wall with a gap. I paired this light up with an Umbra Postino Wall-Mount Mailbox in stainless steel as well & they both look fantastic together.

Nice, but a few things you may dislike or not.
It's a nice looking light and there have been comments made by passers by, all positive. Living with it could frustrate somepeople. The glass is a dark yellowish orange colour so do use a 100 watt bulb. It glows but not like I would have thought. The picture I saw had brighter viens of white glass with softer yellow, like I think of stained glass, it is not. The other problemis that there is no glass on the bottom. So, with summer here, there are a lot of bugs flying all up inside and all around it. It hangsover our front door. When the door is opened insects fly inside the house. So it is a quick open and closing of the door. We arealso having a local glass store cut a piece of glass to close in the bottom. Price is good but...
